Arrow [HOWTO]Become a Fulltime Major Airliner Pilot ?

Hello everyone,
this is my first thread & I have a few questions which I would like to ask here.

I live in India. I'm studying in class 12 i.e last yr. of high school.
I want to become a fulltime major airliner pilot for FedEx, UPS, A'A, etc. after this yr.
I'm in Pure Science Stream & got scored 92.4 % in my last board exam.
I'm from a middle-class family.

I want to ask that,
  • What's the Best Flight School (I can fly in any country with no restrictions)?
  • What's the Highest License for a pilot i.e ATPL ? How does it differs from CPL/IR ?
  • What's the maximum course duration & total fees ?
  • Which is the Best Major Airliner to join ? What are its criteria's ? Why ?
  • What is criteria to be declared Fit for Class-I Medical ?
  • What are the requirements to become a pilot & the very basic elements like Visa, etc ?
Sorry, the questions seems just to be like theory exam sheets QA, but please guys help me with my queries & try to be precise with the answers.

Thanks a lot in Advance.

Arrow Found Something

I found some flight schools in USA
i.e
Orlando Flight School - flyoft.com
&
Embry-Riddle University - erau.edu

Orlando F.S seems to be certified for FAA & JAA licenses.
But am extremely confused about 'Embry-Riddle', as I dont know as to how someone can become a pilot in major airliner by studying there.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found some top notch major airliner names i.e
FedEx, UPS, A'A, Southwest

I have no idea about them....please tell

Please Help !

Aus Flying schools

Ripanrocks, to fly for a major airline I would have to recommend you get a CASA CPL/MECIR, Australian trained pilots are among the best in the world, and this is evident in that Qantas has never lost a jet aircraft to a crash a feat no other airline in the world can boast, CASA is also ICAO approved meaning it is very easy to convert or be recognised anywhere in the world.
I suggest some very good schools in Australia:
Sydney Flight Training Centre
Learn to Fly - Professional Pilot Training with Aerospace Aviation Bankstown, Sydney, Australia
Learn to fly or hire an aircraft with Sydney's biggest and most professional flying college - Basair Aviation College
I wouldn't bother going to the USA to get license,
Australia is closer to India, has better training and if you want to fly in US later, it's very easy to convert Australian CASA to FAA

Now let me see, Virgin Blue? Nope never lost a jet aircraft either, I suspect there are many, many others...

In answer to the question, get a licence, get some experience, apply to the majors, it's quite simple really. Pretty much any licence will do, but I notice the companies on your list are all US based, so then an FAA licence maybe better! Of course to work in the US you need a 'green card' if you haven't got one of those then I would be targeting countries where you do have 'right of abode'.

An Australian licence is accepted in most countries except Europe and the training in this country is a fairly high standard. If Europe is your goal then only a JAA licence will do.

Ripanrocks

Welcome to Pprune! You will find it an informative and welcoming website for Professional pilots. There is a wealth of experience and the 'old timers' are very willing to give you the benefit of their experience. There are also loads of people just getting their feet on the first rung of the ladder and a SEARCH of this Wannabees forum will help you enormously.

There are also some 'stickies' at the top of this page - please read those and do your own research because the questions you ask have been asked time and time again.

You can see that I have already had to delete 'thread-drifters so I will close this thread until I get a PM from you when you have completed your research.

Good luck.

HWB
