UK flight training
Someone could say me something about this JAA flight school in USA?
I'm looking for PPL A and this school has a very good price.
I read a feedback go up again 2005 where says that when come back to UK you have to convert the licence......
...It's appear a little strange but...

I converted my FAA PPL to a JAA PPL with these guys at Long Beach, CA.
It is a very very conjested airspace there and if you are just starting to learn to fly it can be a bit much. Spectacular at night though, there is a VFR corridor right over LAX which is something else.
They did look after me out there and got me through it all on time. If you like a challenge go to Long Beach otherwise try another location with them

This company's fraudulent and misleading advertising has been the subject of a number of threads over the years. I suggest you try the search function to get the full story. The fact is that UKFT does not hold any JAA approvals and the 'JAR-compliant' licence that it trumpets is nothing more than an FAA PPL available from any US flight school.

Help! Enrolled with UKFT - Aviation Pacific - Oxnard, CA
I am a newbie and just enrolled with UKFT for a full Pilot Professional Programme - who've put me into Aviation Pacific - at Oxnard, California..
I just happened to stumble upon this thread where seems like it wasnt a good decision anyways.. please advice as to what should i do since I'm really worried now..

Any one been to UKFT recently - either to Rainbow Air or to Aviation Pacific, please post up experiences.. am about to leave to the place in 2 weeks of time and I'd better make sure I will be getting my money's worth of experience!!

hey. i am a student at aviation pacific( av pac) .. its a good school.. its official address has changed from oxnard to camarillo ..
UKFT and av pac are two absolutely different organisations.. if u are going through UKFT to oxnard /camarillo , you would go to av pac.. ukft is no where in picture.. just that u would be paying to UKFT and ukft would pay money to av pac.. all training would be done in av pac .

Well, what you really need is an ICAO PPL, so the FAA one is JAR compliant. If a school does not volunteer the information that you will not get a JAR PPL, then this may be because you don't need it. Ever.
Remember that upon gaining a JAR CPL, you will loose the JAR PPL, however the FAA one is yours for life. Also, you save on a night qualification, RT licence (depending on the country you get your CPL from eventually), etc, etc.
Do read more on here and in the JARs and you will see that doing an FAA PPL has a lot of advantages and no disadvantages (for most).
I do not know this particular school, but if their prices are the same as other FAA outfits, it may well be worth going there...

What a load of twaddle.
Whilst your CPL or ATPL will, by default, confer all the privileges of a PPL it does not void any existing private license you might have. Simply that the majority choose not to renew their PPL once they have a CPL. Some do, but I can't see what purpose that might hold, except costing a few hundred quid every 5 years to get a new bit of paper.

well UKFT isnt a school by itself, and they dont bother informing students about that, and neither is it mentioned on their website either.. they are just kinda agents who put in students to different flying schools within Southern California...

hi everybody, i'm about to start my training and i've seen Aviation Pacific in Southern California Camarillo Airport in internet. can anyone give more information about them?
I came to know from my friends that they are the only school there (that doesn't leave space to any rivality in quality).
is true that they charge extra for the training as your course never ends on time? fine people for high amounts? the Chief Pilot is a strange moody person?
if anyone can give me help i have to decide soon.
