Ground and Flight Training in Different Countries
If a student studies and passes his/her ATPL exams in one JAA country, can he/she do the CPL flight training in another?
What is the official JAA line on this question? Does anyone know of anyone who has successfully taken this road?

As i understand it
You need to do class 1 medical, ATPL theory and CPL all through the same licensing body.
So you would need to get class 1 at Gatwick and ATPL's sat in the UK.
CPL course can actually be done at any school which is on the CAA's list of approved schools.
And there are a few of them in the US with CAA exmainers out there as well.
The IR MEP etc are add on ratings so can be gained in any JAR FCL1 country.

Certain national authorities will allow ground training to be done under the jurisdiction of one member state, with the flying under another.
Had you been more specific with your "location" - then I could have been more specific with the answer.
Suggest an e-mail to the policy department of the authority under which you reside - to ask if the two member states that you are considering are part of the agreement.
