GPS Data base update

This is a two part question

Firstly, I have a a Garmin Pilot III and would like to update the data base. Is the update available online? I have a 'data link cable' but what software do I need for my PC inorder to do the update?

Secondly, what are the consequences of using an out of date data base (VFR). As far as I know the gps will be just as accurate as when I bought it for navigational purposes, presumably the only changes are to the moving map, airspace and airfield information?

Try the Garmin website
www.garmin.com
The downloads for software upgrades are free, and the downloads for the Jepp databases are about 37 dollars. (You are better of with a broadband connection though, but its not a problem with a slower link.)
Follow the instructions on the screen and its a doddle! I keep my 195 updated like this and carry it as a standby. - You never know!
