Recording Cockpit Video + Audio?
Hi guys,
I have been watching many solo flight videos on Youtube...where flight school students video themselves doing their solos.
I myself will begin flight school in September, and I'm looking at doing a nice cool video of my own solo as well..
Ideally, I want to be able to record full HD clear video as well as record the comms between myself and ATC.
Can anyone suggest a good/affordable set-up for this purpose? I know Go Pro Hero 2 HD has input for audio...but how to set it up to record the comms between ATC and myself as well?

I think the Drift HD 170 has the option for plugging in a mic...you can then just pop the mic in your ear cup on your headset,

I have a friend who must have videoed most of the last 10 years of her life. I'm afraid the idea fills me with horror, but each to their own.
With that out of the way, are you thinking of filming yourself for posterity or for the educational value. I can imagine that the latter might be quite valuable, though personally I enjoyed the independence of my early solos and the fact that I was the only person who ever got to critique them. I got plenty of feedback from my instructors during the remaining 35 hours. There's something very liberating about making and correcting one's mistakes independently.
