I have to make one, possibly two trips into Bournemouth for Project Propellor in a week and a bit. Anyone know
a. whether they are likely to insist on mandatory handling for this (or where the passengers are likely to be i.e. terminal? handling agent? flying club?)
b. if they are waiving landing/handling fees? I hope so!
c. do I need to file a FP inbound? (comments in VFR flight guide about PPR appear to imply this, but maybe not)

Don't know about b) but a) will probably be Bournemouth Handling and if they are nice they might waive handling charges. For c) give ATC a call on 01202 364150 and book in, you don't need a flight plan.
You could also phone one of the flying schools at EGHH (Bournemouth Flying CLub?) and explain the situation and they might allow you to be "handled" by them, saving the handling fee if it is not waived..

I collected a guy for PP last year from Bournmouth.PP organised 2 x free landings with the airport .I rang the manager and was given a PPR no. which you give them on first contact.The guys at Bournmouth handling were unable to do a freebe but only charged once for two visits.They did however fill me up with more Water/snacks etc then i had capacity to carry.It may be worth contacting Bournmouth flying club ,i didnt have time last year because it was very last minute

You don't need an FP for Bournemouth (or any other UK airport, if flying to/from the UK, AFAIK).
You need to phone the man with the Asda mobile phone ("Bournemouth Handling") and get, wait for it, a "PPR number" from him. ATC may ask for this number.
But if you are visiting a based company or flying club then PPR is not required and BH are not in the picture, I gather.

Sounds like I should ring the flying club and be nice to them, thanks all for the tip. Assuming they will accept responsibility then that will make life a lot cheaper and easier!
Looking at it - coming in from the north I assume I can expect to be routed via a VRP e.g. Stoney Cross? (I could make the trip IFR if there is nice weather at Wickenby, I guess.)

From the N VFR Stoney Cross is indeed the usual reporting point. It's a quite large disused runway but the colour changes with the time of year making it harder to see some times than others.
Prior to Stoney Cross, Chilbolton (easily identified by the large dish antenna) is a convenient turning point avoiding Solent and Middle Wallop ATZ, which is often active at weekends.

Spoke to the flying club - no go, they are strictly forbidden from handling any visiting flights - and Bournemouth Handling, who said they would ask the airport authorities but last year they said no. I'm awaiting a response on Monday.
Landing/handling is £55 a time - not excessive, but not cheap, especially as we are bringing two aircraft in twice during that day.
If they say no again, I think a call to the Bournemouth Echo might be in order... ('Scrooge airport refuses to help veterans', perhaps?)

If this was the US Bournemouth airport would be making national press headlines in short order.
(e.g. Delta Charges Returning Troops $2,800 Baggage Fee - NYTimes.com)
What did our own WWII Veteran's actually fight and die for? Following generations can be clueless... ...some of the time anyway.
Four landings that are otherwise not going to happen = no lost revenue (Hurn is not that busy).
Why not get some positive PR out of some otherwise unused runway capacity.
Come on Hurn - give its a moment's thought and do The Right Thing please!
