Thanks Dai .... and it was my fault about the link, it works ok, just me & my stupid browser.
Presumably the situation is still unclear, but what role does BJ play currently then? Are they the landowners, leaseholders or what? I know that Pool Av operate a flying school & I thought they operated the airfield, but similarly, what do they hold as status? Leaseholder?
I'm not asking about the dispute, just who is what status and then it gives us plebs who arent party to the shenanigans a view of what might be expected in the future - without getting involved in the fight.

BJ is the owner of the land. Pool Aviation are leaseholders. What I have heard is that the lease ran out some time ago, and that is what the appeal was about. But all I know is hearsay; I'm just a local (relatively) who used to fly from there.

Hi Poet,
It's pretty much as Whirly said:
BJ Aviation Ltd are the owners of the Airport, i.e. land, hangars, buildings, grass, water, fencing etc. etc....
Pool Aviation Ltd (t/a Welshpool Flying School) are the operators, who were appointed in 1991.
There was a dispute quite early on between the two over various issues, most of which have been mentioned on PPRuNe in the past.
The original lease expired in around 1998 (I believe) and from that point on they continued operating within a special clause of the lease.
Initially the owner took the operator to court in order to remove them. He lost this on a technicality. He then appealed against the decision, and an extension was granted by the judge to enable Pool time to prepare their evidence.
Then at the appeal last Friday, the judges ruled in favour of BJ Aviation Ltd.
As a result, Pool cease to be the operators of Welshpool, and must vacate the premises there.
That would, of course, have a serious effect on their business, I would imagine.
