Dear All,
What's up on Orbifly Met'Map ?
- Some 130 airfields were added
- the NOTAMs coverage was extended to the whole Europe
- source was duplicated with the French METEOFRANCE servers in addition to the NOAA servers (+ Eurocontrol expected soon)
Moreover, Met'Map version 2.0 is now being tested, with a lot of brand new features.
Release expected : automn 2010
Version 1.0 is still online, but we are searching for Bêta Testers for the new version 2.0. If you want to play with our new online tool, contact [email protected] !

I tried the NOTAM application - on the small size UK map.
a) How does one get in closer for detail pls. ?
b) Is it meant to show NOTAM 'd areas too ?
Now have a look at this free
Local NOTAM Map | NOTAM Info
it is really close in and accurate.

Hi !
a)
If by "closer", you mean "declutter", there is a zoom icon on the top left corner of the map.
If you mean "see all NOTAMs in details", just click on the airfield, the page will reload, the map will center on your field (or FIR) and the NOTAMs will be listed below the map.
b)
For the graphical depiction of the NOTAMs, you are right, that would be a great feature and we are still thinking about it.
There are a lot of websites depicting those NOTAMs graphically.
It may be very beautiful to look at, but it is usually confusing and not really usable for pilots.
There is a new digital format coming for NOTAMs that would depict the areas, and that will make the graphical depiction possible and useful.
Thanks for brainstorming,
Alexandra
