FTDK,

terrorise the airways with inflight Ppruining and triple-GPS trans-continental cross-countries in the flight levels.
You sound worse than Dick Smith. Just keep your flippin' eyeballs outside, not inside playing with your toys! :=:ok::p

Do I detect a bit of "GPS envy" there Bloggsy?

You just keep your TCAS on and "Helga the talking cigarette lighter" will alert me to your presence.

speaking of GPS's, i pulled out my newish GPS phone on my flight to sydney on friday night (actually WITH an airline), my phone in flight mode of course.
Since its garmin software, it shows max speed the gps has tracked, so now i tell my mates i've driven my car at 784km/h - and prove it :p:ugh:

This is one technique I use, I apply full forward pressure on the stick before you touch down the first time this will help stop you from bounceing up like this. Once it starts to bounce you just have to ride it out, pulling back would not work. Carb heat could be turned on to reduce the engine power a bit to help stop the bounceing but that is about it.

Priceless:D Must try it on the Auster:ok:

I noticed that one too, thought at first it was veiled sarcasm, but knowing the quality of most of the comments on Youtube I suspect sheer stupidity is probably the more likely answer.

ZEEBEE 27th May 2008 07:54

Now I know what Carby heat is for:ok:

Always wondered about that!

Spoken like a true flight simmer :uhoh:

PyroTek 27th May 2008 08:08

do they even have carby heat on the flight simulators?
If so, I never used it.. well I never really flew the piston engine aircraft on FS, I flew the heavy metal...

He pulled the wrong handle so he didn't eject but somehow survived it all. It was due to the flight control system that was very sensitive, he induced an oscillation and did not go around

Sunfish 29th May 2008 22:07

And this is what happens when a commercial pilot induces an oscillation.

Except that it is a fake.:ok:
