That one of the accidental gear up in the C182 is a classic reason for sterile cockpit below whatever altitude is deemed appropriate. 10k in jets...perhaps within the traffic pattern in pistons would be good.:rolleyes:
The two dills in the front seat never shut up chatting about inane !!!! until the belly started scraping. The individuals in the Piper, Let 410 etc were merely passengers sat at the controls...not pilots. |

Out of the dumb things we have sene here the C182 gear up ldg is a classic. The gear warning horn doesn't go off 'till the throttle is back at a certain position close to closed so these two 'pilots' had it back futher than normal 'cause they couldn't figure out why they where still going so fast, CLEAN!:bored: And to think someone was actually filming outside the side window possibly wondering & viewing the non existant wheels just prior to touchdown, I bet this person (Vid man/gal) was asked why didn't you say sumfin'? They would then say why didn't you put the gear down? After the ldg would have been the funniest, that part we missed

That's why in Oz at least, the tower is required to confirm "gear Down and Locked" with the landing clearance. Cheap insurance really! Z |
