One of which has a PAIR of Kahunas!!

The tail on that ATR looks a little crooked. Is that normal?

Pianoman, where do the nosewheels on that boat of yours retract into?

Piano Man 20th Jun 2014 12:33

Bloggsie, I was very impressed!

As for the wheels, the retract up, however the front nose wheels are always exposed and out of the water line!

Spectacular to look at, but the sort of stuff that gets people killed, promoting unsafe flying in LSA aircraft.:ugh:

Why is it that drivers are apparently able to distinguish a rally driver's antics on TV from acceptable behaviour on the highway and yet showing anything risky in the aviation sphere is seen as a sure path to doom? I don't buy it.

BlatantLiar 28th Jun 2014 12:19

Whats the aircraft type UTR? That looks damn satisfying.

Because almost every pilot thinks they are better than everyone else. therefor, anyone doing something outside their comfort zone is on a one way ticket to hell.

What would happen if a Jabiru was flown around a red bull air race course? OMG ! the stupidity! what would they say if they were told it was Matt Hall or Paul Bonholme flying it at the time?

BlatantLiar 28th Jun 2014 12:48

They would say 'Who? By the way, when is Hannes due on track?'

Looks like you've set area qnh 1003 a bit early

Trent 972 28th Jun 2014 23:44

Megle2. Not according to AIP 1.7 2.1.4, he hasn't.
Set QNH anytime when on descent to an altitude before passing the 'Transition Level'.

Although it would make it a bit iffy if asked to report "level 'leaving'". ;-)

601P! I'd like one of them for christmas. Please Santa.

something for nothing

Jabba - Lean of Peak of course..... (59% power/ 43L/hr per side)
So which one was it - 59% or 43 L/hr?

11.35 gph x 13.75 = 156hp

Either you've got 265hp engines or you were cruising at 45% power on 350hp engines, or the FF k-factor has been sneakily reset on you...

Just curious, no gotcha intended!

-- added -- do the 290hp aerostars have a MCP rating of 265hp perhaps?
