Chuck,

That wouldn't be a ragwing C170 in the back ground would it?

the wizard of auz 12th Jul 2009 08:26

Hey Chuck, is that photo taken at the northern end of the airfield?. and is there a rowdy ag operator two doors down and a mad Seth Efrican across the road?. it all looks pretty familiar.

Chimbu chuckles 12th Jul 2009 10:06

Yes...lives in same hangar as the Stearman and C180....and yes, although know nothing of the rowdy SAfrican - Carl probably does:ok:

allthecoolnamesarego 12th Jul 2009 10:27

Saw this in cootamundra a while back.

Don't know much about it (anything actually:})
Ideas?

the wizard of auz 12th Jul 2009 14:02

AAAh, it all makes sense now you mention Carl and the 180 (aint it a doozy. they did a wonderful job on that) say g'day to Carl and co for me. (tell him to think Mustering pilot, Daisy and air race).
the Seth Efrican L.A.M.E across the tarmac is mad, not rowdy. the rowdy guy is the Aggy (he's a little mad as well :E ) just for kicks, sit out the front of the hanger where you are and listen to the L.A.M.E talking to himself. its a giggle. Just yell out "what was that?" every now and then..... It quiets him down a little. :E

Anyone know where??? Spent a couple of months going in and out of here. Extra points if you can spot the aircraft type....lower portion of the front widow may give it away to those in the know?

This time was a daylight approach....did the same thing many times in the middle of a dark'n'stormy night..NOT HAPPY JAN!!! Thankful for the experience though...:ok:

b747heavy 12th Jul 2009 15:34

A couple more whilst I am digging through photo's....

Where (which should be easy) and what type? We had just flown down from Darwin to avoid a tropical cyclone that was predicted to be heading that way...sorry for the image quality :O

Does anyone know the story surrounding this? Clue: The turbine wheel that you see is from the left engine...you are looking at the right engine cowl :ugh: (I did not take this pic...it was sent to me along with a bunch of others showing the whole story and damage).

Whoops...will have to check the photo size before next post...sorry about that!!

For the record, the clear plastic flying wing was the Canberra Aero Club's entry in the 1986 Birdman Rally - came in third with a tail wind. Needed for head wind to be fully effective. Designed and built by Harvey Ritchie. Later redeveloped and taken to coffs for their rally - damaged in a storm which ruined the event.

Based on McCready's Gossamer thingo which flew across the Channel powered by the pilots legs.

Jabawocky 13th Jul 2009 06:11

We would never have guessed that one! :D

Bit more predictable this one...........and the wings are even level! :}

TonKat 14th Jul 2009 05:51

Jaba

Is beachy going to subject you to the Barefoot's:ok:

BEACH KING 14th Jul 2009 06:27

TonKat, .. Jaba can drink whatever he wishes from the vast array of alcoholic beverages (including barefoots) that will be provided for him to lessen the huge disappointment that he will (no doubt) be feeling after being comprehensively educated as to the AWSOMENESS of the Bonanza...

I, on the other hand, will be smugly enjoying quite a few Bundaberg Red Rums!! (It is winter you know).

Jabawocky 14th Jul 2009 07:59

Not another flat earther Bonanza driver being cheeky! :E

Yes our dear mate Beachie has exposed us to the Barefoots long before they were available here in the big smoke even....... and they are quite nice!

Now the Bundy Red or even Bundy Black..............:ok:

Saturday night it is! Are you joining in TonKat?

ForkTailedDrKiller 17th Jul 2009 12:56

The view from the office was decidedly chilly yesterday!
