Aye Ess

From what I'm told you advanced the throttles in the argosy at the start of the take off and didn't touch them until TOD.

Terrey 7th Jun 2011 21:29

Thanks Aye Ess. I am not a Pro Photographer! Just professional pilot with a photography hobby.

Aye Ess 7th Jun 2011 21:34

Terry, maybe you should start submitting piccys to Airliners.com or Jetphotos.com,because aviators everywhere would love to see your work.

WannaBeBiggles 7th Jun 2011 21:39

FTD

Great picture, having spent some time in TNQ on the old float/Beaver I would like to see a cockpit view of this last one to see if I have logged any hours in her.

Chief galah 8th Jun 2011 03:55

Costs nothing more to employ the good looking ones
Especially when you're the owner (which she is) and have 18K hours.

Nicest looking panel I've seen on a Beaver, didn't the one's out here have the throttle in the middle with the pitch on the left?

WannaBeBiggles 8th Jun 2011 07:59

Great panel indeed, very clean.

You are 100% correct, some don't even have the same knobs... just ads to the character of the Beaver.

I'll try to upload some pics as soon as I can get flickr up and running.

Chadzat 8th Jun 2011 08:45

er hem.

Piano man- please dont stop uploading them!

Piano Man 8th Jun 2011 08:48

From what I understand, any Beaver with a middle pitch control was built for the US military. Any aircraft with the pitch on the left hand side were designed for civil use.

Some of the earlies had coloured knobs, the AG one's were a fair mix of machinery with stuff straight from the factory and others from lotsa other places including ex military stuff. After a few years they had all sorts of parts with a few having U-6 wings with hard points. Most of the tip tanks were U-6 stuff. I think all the quadrants were converted in hanger 17 at Bankstown to be the same.
