BEAUTIFUL,Jabba. Now who would ever want to be a 9 to 5 office worker? Aeroplane drivers see the most spectacular skies.

I have a stupid question: How do you insert an image? Does it have to be online or can you upload from the Hard Drive?

Aye Ess 19th May 2011 08:25

Hey Hatman,

Go back to the forums index page & look at the 3rd line down 'image posting on Pprune'. It's a step by step recipe & although it looks hard when first viewed,it's not that bad, just a bit long. I find the best feature is the 'preview post' button prior to submitting (avoids making a dill of myself)

Is this your baby Wal? How old and how many hours, she looks somewhat beaten up or "well used" perhaps?

It's just had a few friendly knocks on the side from when the props have parted with some ice by the looks.

Wally Mk2 19th May 2011 11:37

'XXX'.................ahhh the good 'ole days:-) That looks like WGT as I used to park almost off the hard surface myself, bad eyesight I guess:-) Those 4 airframes did a lot of work. I think the contract stated that the airframes could be max 4 yrs old at time of contract start & max of 2 to 3 thousand hrs, something like that, they weren't new anyway. When I jumped ship last year the frames had over 12000 hrs on them & where really looking shabby. Built like tanks the old Beech where & did a Stirling job but best of all they always had a spare donk.............on each airframe:E:ok:.

Taken at Shark Bay (Denham) a couple of weeks ago. Someone has to do it....

....and this just isn't good enough. You don't seem to be able to go anywhere these days without someone coming along and getting in one's way.

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/3...1116medium.jpg

Not on the same trip, but last time I slipped into Albury with the 210, someone had the gall to park their Retard Vehicle in the way blocking the view. It simply won't do!

Jabawocky 20th May 2011 21:07

What bad airmanship:sad: to think that after 47 years of flying and 38 with QANTAS such photographic obstructions on the apron would never happen. I will ensure it does not happen again!:}

Of course in this instance it did improve the quality of the shot!:)

PyroTek 22nd May 2011 03:14

...38 with QANTAS such photographic obstructions on the apron would never happen
The QF guys are told where to park though, usually :E

But if you are departing 'anywhere', and those 'traffics' are 10nm away.....then......."NO TFC!!!"

I've told ya before, if they can catch ya, then they can have ya........

Cheers:}

Nope! Too scared to!

"Alerted See and Avoid" is one thing; trying to avoid a whole bl@@dy squadron of the buggers is beyond the pale!! :{

rioncentu 22nd May 2011 21:59

Bloggs

WTF - That looks scary:sad:

What is the range set on that display?

Jabawocky 22nd May 2011 22:16

Hey Bloggs.........

While sweating the concept of multiple boggies, did you think they are just the ones with transponders and turned on.....and what about the health of the encoders? :eek:

The inner ring is 5nm.

But but but, transponders are always on and always serviceable..aren't they?!

CHOGM's worst nightmare! I wonder how many Hornets would be needed to shoot down that lot before they got to the Bell Tower??!

The STAR says "Caution: Adjacent Jandakot CTR. Do not widen out on base leg" for good reason. :ok:

None. :E Sadly, when Ronnie was last called upon to perform they couldn't hack it, left to Navy to fix, but sadly they no longer have any toys. (Auster over Sydney)

NZ C180/185 pilots should know where this is, if the photos in the cafe where anything to go by.

A bit of humour...

Givelda 4th Jun 2011 08:06

Taken back in 1988 - I think. I guess this C310R VH-BPI was inherited by Australian Airlines from Bushies probably making it the "smallest" aircraft in the Australian fleet.
I flew another one, VH-TDS but I lost track of it after 1979.
Probably not the best looking of the C310's with the long nose but still great to fly....

http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/...-BPIC31002.jpg

http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/...0VH-TDSsml.jpg

Aye Ess 4th Jun 2011 08:28

Indeed you are quite correct, Givelda. Air Queensland (Bushies) had the flying surgeon contract,so had two C310R a/c,this one VH-BPI was based at Longreach & the other one VH-FSR (Flying Surgeon Roma) was based at Roma. After TAA (Australian Airlines) bought Air Queensland they inherited the contract so,the a/c were painted in Aust Airlines colours.

Great piccys thanks Dogimed. I painted this painting because I quite like the Argosy. I remember it well, as it had a very distinctive sound as it slowly climbed out of Brisbane each night on its freight run south. They were used also in NZ on inter island freight operations. Ugly?Yes....but aeroplanes back then had characteristic shapes, unlike now where they all look basically the same.

ABX 7th Jun 2011 10:17

Very nice painting Aye Ess

Another fantastic painting Aye Ess! I wish I could afford to commission you to do one for me! Love your work.:ok:

What a great pic.

Aye Ess 7th Jun 2011 10:26

Thanks ABX. The thing that's happening now is pprune has such interesting threads, that I get SO much inspiration to paint them. I've just put one on the Islander/trislander thread, but,I can feel a Nomad & a Heron coming on. Might have to up my medication :8

Jabawocky 7th Jun 2011 11:02

ABX

The real truth is you can afford one, he does this as a fun hobby, and charges at least 50% or less of what he should.

If you want something pony up now before he really believes he is under charging.

In aviation terms its Melbourne to Cairns for $49 ;)

Terrey 7th Jun 2011 11:22

Thanks Dr!
