"slamer. Knox...is that a Qantas C206..?"

Lol... not quite... unless Qantas have changed their colours from red to orange and change their logo from roo to bird.

Chimbu,

Going mate. As for height, yes. I was pulling up though to miss the power lines beyond the strip!

Confused

Lovely pic YBMK...

However you have me confused.

It looks a bit like tassie which is out of character with your user name.
DRH according to the CASA register is a PA28
The registration markings on the side, if it is Australian, appear to be in contravention of CASR45.025(1) and CASR 45.045.
That suggests it's not from Oz???

:confused::confused:

compressor stall 3rd Oct 2008 12:24

Curiosity got the better of me and I found another pic of the same aircraft on or about the same day in the same spot. The rego does have a ZK prefix (and hyphen!) in front of it on that side... and the DRH is in a different spot!

Looking closer the DRH reflection seems too sharp - it's not wavy like the other reflections. Photoshop perhaps?

BSD 3rd Oct 2008 12:37

Beauty!

BSD.

Capt Fathom 3rd Oct 2008 13:23

Another photo here

Looks like the ZK- has been removed at some stage!

So much for conspiracy (photoshop) theories !

From NZ AC 47-1

Subpart C — Aircraft Marking
47.101 Requirement for aircraft marking The New Zealand nationality mark is ZK. The allocated registration mark consists of a set of three letters specific to that aircraft.
All aircraft operated outside New Zealand are required to display both the nationality and the allocated registration mark. All aircraft with a MCTOW greater than 5700 kg are required to display both the nationality and allocated registration mark even if they are operated solely within New Zealand.
Smaller aircraft typically have less surface area on which to display full marks, therefore when operated within New Zealand some aircraft are not required to display the nationality mark. These aircraft types are identified in 47.101(b). Unless otherwise stated, these aircraft are still required to display the allocated three-letter registration mark.

Flew home to Brisbane in this today. One question though, why did they make an aircraft promoting breast cancer awareness look like a big penis? When we hit a tiny bit of turbulence I looked out the window expecting to see giant fingers hard at work...
