Horatio Leafblower, did you report this to the strip owner/operator? It may have prevented this accident.

What I meant mate was, you can report all you like, show all the airmanship you like, but we're in Australia, it won't be fixed.

Will be fixed if operators refuse to use the strip until it's repaired. Having a damaged aircraft on the strip wouldn't be good PR with the clientele that use the strip.

Why hasn't ATSB raised an occurrence number on this accident?

Perhaps because the ATSB couldn't find the correct incident category for "using an aircraft as a plough"?

Nah. A couple of bulk strips and a few new bits and pieces and it'll be in the air in no time.

Spoke to the owner a few weeks later looking for a source of parts... he said then that the insurance assessors will make the call. The aeroplane had been retrieved and moved to the Sharp facility in Launceston (I think).

No update since.

I have found that sometimes the truth isn't always with Flightaware though.

If 'they' can resurrect VH-KUZ after its tangle with a Top End thunderstorm then there is a fair chance JVL will live to fly another day.
