Could be a PA31 stuck ( bogged ) or a PA31 " struck " by a wayward golf ball

Why is it the " good " aircraft seem to come to grief while the old Chieftains just keep ploughing along

To clarify, I certainly wasn't making light of the fact that a Conquest had pranged, only the aircraft names/type designators being made fun-of on another thread.

Bit more than a two stroke penalty there, I'm afraid!

or a PA31 " struck " by a wayward golf ball
Got hit by a mis-struck Golf ball when landing a Robin DR400 Glider Tug at a Gliding Club next to a Public Golf course in Hokkaido a number of years ago.

Caused a great deal of mirth in a few places!

Recovery cost down there will be painful.

If it's on the runway, the surface looks terrible.

I don't know about "old Chieftains just ploughing along" - but that Conquest has sure been doing it's fair share of ploughing, in the last couple of hundred feet.

The new strip at Barnbougle "Lost Farm" ain't as good as the old one at BB Dunes. Last time I took a Conquest in there I could feel the nosewheel digging in here and there and C402/404/441 have a bit of a weakness in the nosewheel dept if you bog it...

But more importantly, the bar is much better at Lost Farm!
