lol Dick, great plan.
The problem is 'memory'.
We aren't as stupid as the average 'Ozemite' or 'Dick Cheese' aficionados might have you believe.
You seem to be championing for all the issues with the system that you, in fact, instigated. Do you think that the '40 year old Dick' would outlast the '20 year old Dickless'?
You've burnt all your bridges champ. Your only support would come from the 60+ demographic and those who are too young to remember your disastrous medling in airspace reform.

Disastrous meddling ?
Would you really like to go back to the system before my changes?
No CTAFs. All non tower airport calls on FS frequencies.
No radar access for pilots in all uncontrolled radar covered airspace? By mandatory regulation only allowed to communicate to Flight Service who had a few 1930s type flight strips and a radio. More MDX type fatalities because of this?
Mandatory requirement to tell the government exactly where you are if flying VFR en route above 5000' or more than 50 miles , and inform the government if you dare to be more than 2 minutes away from your compulsory 30 minute position report.
The cost of another 700 air traffic staff? And the cost of Operational Control ?
No. I don't think many , other than you Hempy ,would want or afford to go back to the system before my " disastrous meddling "

There's that '700' figure again....
I did ask where you got this from?
Its a 'given' that 'some' of the past rules and regs. were a 'pain in the a#$@' for not much 'apparent reason'.
However, the 'streamlined' FS was a good service, available to ALL.
Satellite technology certainly enabled the numbers to be 'trimmed' dramatically, but the SERVICE remained.
Your previous 'suggestion' (?) about re-opening the B.O.s would be an excellent idea to reconnect the younger members of the industry with Airservices at the coalface, so to speak.
A Shop front 'window' to the 'system'.
Where else could a 'wannabee' get a full briefing from a real person, face to face, ask any question, peruse all or just 'pertinent' notams, including those reams of superfluous HO Notams, file a plan, and see how the system works.
And believe it or not, I reckon that the B.O. supplied pilots with a mutual meeting place - something sorely missed in our 'fractured' industry in which, when everybody is employed and busy, they are 'away'.
(Airborne, going somewhere else or coming from....)
However, we all know that this is not going to happen.
So, we all 'bumble along', getting our info from our phones / tablets etc and sometimes not understanding just how the 'system' works - or is supposed to work.
These pages attest to that!!
Cheers

That reminds me of the scene from 'Hogan's Heroes' where Colonel Hogan is in Colonel Klink's office. Suddenly, Major Hochstetter bursts in and looks at Hogan. "What is this man doing here?"

However, we all know that this is not going to happen.

bisHop replacement Jason Falinski with the best of ABC educations thinks visual polution in China is caused by CO2. Perhaps our Mr Smith could explain to the doofus that CO2 is invisible to the eye.

He should have stuck with Wendy Deng.

Hmmm... perhaps our Mr Smith is a little frightened of some of the questions Bolt might ask him...
.
The Bolt is very pro aviation. He's always flitting around Oz and the world in CO2 spewing aircraft.
Perhaps our Mr Smith could present the aviation 'case' to Bolt..
