Looks like they read PPrune... Email from JAH to me today below...
Dear aviation tenants,
As part of the precinct 5 development on our approvedMasterplan, JAH has now installed streetlights on the Southern Link Road ,approx. 450m beyond the overshoot of runway 30. The streetlights were designedto retain the published TODA for RWY 30 of 1051m at 3.17% slope. The lightswere manufactured 35cm longer than the design resulting in a minor change tothe slope gradient of 0.15% and a NOTAM has been issued declaring the slope at3.32%. The lights are all well below the OLS and comply with all CASA safetyrequirements. Nevertheless JAH is investigating a different design for thelights in the RWY30 take off splay with a view to reducing them substantially.
Whilst the change is slope gradient is very minor, JAH wouldadvise all operators to ensure that their aircraft performance data complieswith published TODAS for all runways at Jandakot Airport.
I really don't think they want this to be an Airport which I know is pretty obvious!

Rumour has it, that the plastic nozzle of a can of expanding foam, it flattened slightly to fit a coin slot, is more than capable of pumping a parking meter full of foam in no time flat.
I used to live in a suburb where the local council thought parking meters would be a great revenue stream, they even borrowed several hundred thousand dollars to install them.
The cost of maintenance, accounting and enforcement ended up being higher than revenue, and that council went bankrupt yet again.

I have just gotten back from being at Jandakot today to carry out a pre purchase inspection for a friend of mine here in Sydney and I was very much surprised that there was not ONE car parked in any of the car parks. I assume (dirty word I know) that there is some red faces at Jandakot holdings right now.

Parking meters at JT
Isn't Red Faces a segment on Hey Hey?That segment is on a par with the comedians at YPJT management. When i retire i'm gonna get a job emptying the machines and clamping the wheels of all the "ghost cars".That takes care of 10 minutes a week ,then i can "jump the fence" and arrest all the guys not wearing hi-viz gear , whack them in the "clamp van" and leave them in the carpark. At least that way i might fill it.
From my observations, weekday occupancy averages around 3 cars per car park

It's amazing how many cars you can cram onto a leasehold if you use some imagination. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some parked at a local discount veggie store as well.
Glen is right, in the car park opposite RFDS apart from an old relic that has been there for aeons (and hasn't been clamped yet!) there are two or three cars per day in there...otherwise it's tumbleweeds!

Too funny.
Yes I was very surprised at all the cars parked up against the hangars. All I can say is that I was very happy that I never had a car and I was driven around. I think Jandakot is going down a similar road of Bankstown. At least on the northern side we are still safe for the time being!
