Have already downloaded the naips ap, so what you are saying then is I have to manually enter all the flight plan into naips like we used to?
I like how the runways site does a nice flight plan by just entering the destination and departure. Would have hoped they had a function then to just send it to naips.

I have requested that feature a while back, they are probably busy on the android version at a guess.
Doesn't appear that they (AvPlan) have a free trial. Just want to get the best program that can do everything.
Yes, AvPlan EFB has a fully featured one month trial as well. AvPlan EFB will submit flight plans directly, while OzR needs the NAIPS app.
Come see us at the Avalon Airshow next week and see version 5. Its awesome!

I'd like to sledge your product but you need to stay professional.
I am glad you are proud of your product but I do not think that this thread is the right place for the comments you make about your product against Ozrunways.

Anyway kiddies,
I notice that OzRwys 4.2.2 has a useful PRD function now. You press and hold within your chosen restricted area and it not only displays the vertical limits, but after what seems like a brief polling of NAIPS, it displays the current status.
This I find truly useful.
One thing I always found very tedious is going through dozens of PRD notams trying to find the ones that will affect my flight route.
The only problem is that it needs an internet connection.
It would be great if you could tick a box next to the chart for PRDs that would, say download all the PRD notams, read them and display the active ones.
You could chose the Area (e.g. 40, 44, 20) and a time limit of your expected operation.
You could do this before you lost 3G, the results saved and displayed on the ERC.

G'day guys and girls...I have just had a go at setting up weight and balance for evektor Sportstar plus in ozrunways...I have had a lot of trouble however I think i have got it....the only way I could get it to work or even come close was by converting the sportstars POH envelope from having weight (kg) on the Y axis and moment (kg.m) on the X axis.....to instead having length (cm) on the X axis (weight still in Y axis)...I only did it because the app asks for "weight" and "long" when entering the plot points for the envelope...and all I did was work back from the moment (kg.m) to find the length of the arm. when I did it (I.e. I put all the points into the app) the same as the POH (weight X kg.m) it didn't even come close...
when I did it by changing the axis units as above (to weight X arm length) it turned out to be very similar to the cog envelope that is also in the Poh that determines what %MAC the cig position is at...which I thought was a good sign....also when I did dummy tests on it against the POH envelope that I usually use the one I created works very very well. If anyone wanted screen shots of what I did let me know.
So long story short try doing it by inputting the envelope points as weight for Y Axis and length for X axis...I hope I haven't confused this....let me know if I am way off too guys

Weight problems
When u make a flight plan the fuel is already accounted into the flight plan...if you Adjust any fuel by either:
An aircraft capacity value change - from the settings
Or
Change the value of fuel being carried (this can be done on the flight plan sheet on the right side of the table in the top row - a value will be already placed here that lists the exact amount required for the trip/leg of your current flight plan)
Or
Changing values From the weight and balance set up
When you change any fuel, for example saying you would like to carry 110l instead of the 54l that ozrunways determines that is required for the leg or trip, it will be added to the flight plan as weight on top of your loaded weight (i think ozrunways calls this LW In the app), and your mtow will also increase....however if you select that for the flight you would only like to carry the exact amount that ozrunways says is required the Loaded weight and MTow will add up correctly.
All it is saying is, is that whatever ozrunways determines is required for that flight in fuel weight, will be the difference between your no fuel weight and your Mtow. Any additional fuel will not be counted as fuel weight, it Will automatically be included as load (the same as pax and bags).

I think this is a great change. I've never understood why they (the BoM in particular) persist in using codes. The opportunities for mis-interpretation should be obvious and, given the ease of communication now, the "fix" has been blindingly obvious yet the pig-headedness continues. Well done OzRunways!

Dora, the codes exist because in the days of Telex and Morse, every letter sent cost money so brevity was absolutely essential. Go back further and you will even find various "commercial codes" used by businesses to keep communication costs down.

I like coded because I can look at a TAF and interpret all the information I need in a second or two. I can read and entire area forecast of TAF's in a minute and move on with my day. The ones that need deeper thought stand out and I can review them in detail.
Decoded is a pain in the arse. Fine if people want it as long as it never replaces the standard format.

After 42 years in ATC, codes are plain text to me. Looking at the decoded message, I found it slow going, too wordy. Decoded TAFs are probably good for new or low time pilots. As only TAFs are decoded, people will still need to decode the area forecasts where most flying is done.
