where is racwa going?
Hi Airsic, no I'm not on the committee just an ordinary pilot and friend of RACWA who would like to see her still in our blue skies in the future. I only hear rumours like the rest of us...there is no shortage of them, but that newspaper article in the Cockburn Herald is very bad.

newspaper article
Hi Wolly,
Not that you can ever trust much that you read in the papers, I don't have access to the article or the paper for that matter, not in Perth.
Any chance you could give us the guts of it here or scan and pm it to me?
Can you give us any ideas as to who wrote the article and what it was in relation too?
Spoke to a club member there and confirmed treasurer left of own accord, very smartly, after his strategies to move forward were not "consistent" with the direction the club would like to head toward.
Not sure they have any real choice in the matter quite frankly. There is a real concern amongst members at the moment that not enough is being done quickly, and that there may be a number of "friendly" members who aren't so "friendly" waiting in the wind for the inevitable.
It appears that one of the members has just had "his" agency appointed to 'manage the strategies' moving forward.......I do hope monies have not been paid to this agency.....that would be seen as a breach of the current constitution!.....Members, are you getting ready to rally?!!!!!
Not much point waiting for the Next EGM...I don't think the club has any real interest at this time in talking to the members.
Cheers

No Bull
Ok....all conjecture to one side.....
An email from J. campbell went out this morning concerning the "trampling" of the constitution of RACWA.
It detailed the article in Freo Herald news.
the article cites $2m in debt....ALL members are privvy to the fact that $650k overdraft was raised last year and the total debt is $3.5m.
Murray Korff has resigned...PUBLIC knowledge.
Andrew Eldridge (pres) is in a tail spin and has no business sense what so ever...ALSO public knowledge.
Members are now rallying to form an EGM at the earliest opportunity to stave off Bankwest ASAP.
Bankwest are the largest secured creditors....Public Knowledge. They had no confidence in the previous CEO HOWEVER, they were happy with Murray. A guy that has been there and done that in the past. has a proven track record and his reputation speaks for itself.
Newly appointed General Manager David, has been there in the past...HOWEVER he has been gone a long time and the position of GM IS NOT CEO. THE COMMITTEE IS STILL IN CONTROL!
The members MUST get behind the current push and remove the current PRESIDENT as he is nothing but a dangerous, uneducated person, who probably has the best of intentions BUT KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT SAVING THE CLUB NOR MOVING IT FORWARD.
FOR EVERYONES SAKE.....MR PRESIDENT.......DO THE RIGHT THING AND REMOVE YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY.
DO NOT THINK THAT YOU CAN SAVE THE CLUB, YOU CAN'T......YOU JUST GOT RID OF THE ONE PERSON THAT HAD ANY CHANCE TO RESURRECT FROM THE ASHES THE CLUB!!!!!!!!!
TELL AZZURE THAT THEIR SERVICES CAN NOT BE USED AS IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL TO DO SO, INSTEAD, PLACE IN THE BREACH SOMEONE THAT HAS A CLUE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE BANK.
OTHERWISE MR PRESIDENT,.......AE......... YOU WILL GO DOWN IN THE RECORDS AS THE PRESIDENT THAT ASSISTED THE PREVIOUS MORONS IN BRINGING DOWN THE ROYAL ACCENTED FLYING INSTITUTION THAT WAS THE ROYAL AERO CLUB OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA..
FOR $%$#s SAKE....WAKE UP AND REALISE YOUR LIMITATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND THATS NO BULL

"NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEMBERS TO COME TO THE AID OF THE CLUB"........Methinks.
Who can call for an EGM?
How many members are required for a Quorum?
Some serious issues need to be voted on by INFORMED members!!!
Cheers

If it's like most other clubs, you should be able to find the answers to those questions in the Club's Constitution, which should be available to all members. I would imagine there's an option for a certain number of members to call a special general meeting (in the NFP I do stuff for, it's twenty).
If those members wished, I would also imagine that they could put up a motion of no-confidence in the committee, which would have to be followed by an election for a new committee. That's how it works in Queenlsand, but your laws may be slightly different. You may need to ask around a bit to be sure.

From Fremantle Herald:
WAAC a "River of Gold" how much were they paying this guy????!!!!
If you want "rivers of gold" - and not to have a committee to whinge about - then ditch the constitution, be a proper business and pay tax like everyone else.
Or if you can do better then why not put your hand up for President.
And the old chestnut about "the industry is starting to grow". Never been a better time to train as a pilot eh?

Royal Aero Club of Western Australia - RACWA Constitution
Isn't it so easy to criticise from an anonymous forum, telling anyone who who listen how these people are no good but not providing one constructive suggestion. I guess you are all multi millionaires as you all clearly know exactly what is required to sort out the club.
Either join the commitee and help to fix it or go away. I am really sick of reading all the posts of doom and gloom, the club has been close to the end before and survived and I believe it will survive again.
