Not taking anything away from the magnificent job this guy did, but the King Air is the most pleasant and docile landing aircraft I have experienced. Thankfully it was a King Air and not some other difficult handling/landing type.

Not yet, but imagine the kerfuffle when he contacts a flying school stating "I only need to learn the takeoff - don't bother about the landings..."

I didn't find anything wrong in his phraseology. despite being in that condition (emergency and not used to flying that machine)he was still using standard methods.
The controller also did a fantastic job. Not overloading the pilot and giving him just the critical information to fly the aircraft. I wonder if there were a lot of people bellowing in his ear to "say this" - "tell him that" etc. Any controllers care to elaborate on what the protocols are in this scenario?

Sad to hear about the demise of the pilot though
I've always thought that without any complications, the Kingy is much easier to land than any 172 I've flown.
Good job all nonetheless.
