Ctrl F5 fixed the problem for me...........all back to normal.

Cheers

TH
That worked, brilliant. Simple, no caches, cookies or oodledipsers to delete or whatever. But exactly what does Ctrl F5 actually do?

Glad I'm not the only silly bugger who pressed CTLF5 not knowing what the heck it does.
Did work a treat though!

I had the funny screen, PM TW early, used his tips and AOK, thanks TW. Not the screen he/she put up here but the one without all the pix etc others have mentioned.

TID - that's a useful site you linked.

As an aside, just to know if it's my end or Pprune - has anyone also been getting a bomb out to the 'internet site not available' screen in IE7 when moving between the two D&G forums, or lost posts when pushing the 'submit reply'?

I had exactly what you describe.

Now I have to apologise to my computer for all the naughty words I said to it.

Done Buster. I sent it to your Nigerian accountant and he's promised me $45 million....

The problem is being investigated almost around the clock. You can rest assured Danny and the Mod team have pressure on the site administrators to rectify whatever is causing the problem.

CTL F5 seems to clear the problem. Alternatively, log out, clear cookies and history and log back into PPRuNe in a new browser.

The good news I guess is that Australia seems to be almost immune from the problems. It appears far worse in the UK and parts of Europe.

Sorry I can't give you any indication of when it may be fixed.

What Ctrl F5 does

Ctrl F5 tells the web browser (IE at least) to go and ask for everything again, ignoring the contents of the cache, temp files, cookies, etc. It's good for this as well as some websites where you know the content has refreshed but you're still seeing old stuff.Flog (aka, geek).

Delete Temporary Internet Files, then reload IE.

Talking

If you're using IE7 then you deserve everything you get! I've never had hassles with Firefox!

I am advised a number of site problems have been resolved, however there is still an intermittent problem with the site responses slowing down for short periods.

I will advise further if I hear of any improvements.
