Thumbs up Best looking commercial flying machine ever built

Boeing 727 - an extension of a man's organ. N727WF was the hottest looking aircraft I have ever seen with those winglets. I have yet to see another better.

DHL's 727 still gets around.

What will AAE replace the Boeing 727 after June 30?

Sad to see the 727 retire after 44 years of service.

That 727 I believe is sticking around for a while as it can uplift more on the PER - MEL route than the 733

The freight space is needed on that sector

Skystar,
The 72 can lift more on all the routes it used to fly, Bris, Cairns, Hobart etc, but that didn't stop them being dumped off those routes.
Now only does Perth, and the remaining crew have been told 30 June is the end of the line.

I guess Qantas had to off-load some old 737's and the accountants don't much care about the fact of odd size pallets, that Perth can be iffy ( granted rarely) even in the 727 sometimes, never mind in a 73 etc etc.
Shame they didn't think ahead a little earlier and source a couple of 757's, they would probably have been a more sensible replacement.

Having said that, I do hope you are correct, but for what it is worth, I heard it from "the horses mouth".

No doubt AAE's loyal customers in Perth will enjoy the new improved service provided by the B737 freighter when the weather is bad or strong winds are encountered enroute.

Long live the B727.
