The 72 can lift more on all the routes it used to fly, Bris, Cairns, Hobart etc, but that didn't stop them being dumped off those routes.
Now only does Perth, and the remaining crew have been told 30 June is the end of the line.
I guess Qantas had to off-load some old 737's and the accountants don't much care about the fact of odd size pallets, that Perth can be iffy ( granted rarely) even in the 727 sometimes, never mind in a 73 etc etc.
Shame they didn't think ahead a little earlier and source a couple of 757's, they would probably have been a more sensible replacement.
Having said that, I do hope you are correct, but for what it is worth, I heard it from "the horses mouth".
