Pac Blue Contact details

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anyone out there with Pac Blue contact details

i.e. Someone in flight Ops etc who I can have a chat to or conversly send an email to regarding employment.
BTW, I am not a wannabe, I'm a skipper on the 737NG (after a stint on the baby bus) working for a certain orange tailed UK based LCC, plus I'm a Kiwi.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure of the figures, but it's pretty grim.

Last report was about NZ$110 pa, with no super. For captains.

You're far better off at Virgin Blue, where pilots are employed directly by the airline, not a dodgy contract company. You'd have to start in the RH seat (dunno about PB) VB FOs get more than PB training capts, plus the 9% super on top, and with your experience you'd be an Ejet skipper in quick time. VB FOs start on A$101k, plus about a grand tax free allowances per month. EJet skippers A$135k.

best of.

Oops you said "contact details" not "contract". Oh well.

That's a pretty fair summary. Capt salary now $141,000. Get onto Rishworth aviation for details if you're still keen.

Thanks guys for the info, to be honest I'd have to take a serious look, and yeah VB would be a preferred option...if they would ever offer me an interview. I've had my details with them for 18 months..so I don't believe the pilot shortage crap spouted about.

Anyone with a phone number etc?

Jobs for the boys

Mate of you do not know the number you must not know anyone there. Since it still seems to be the good old NZ tradition of 'Jobs for the Boys' and who you know, well best of luck but i do not fancy your chances. They do not seem to interested on anyone without references in NZ, regardless of experience. Employing quite inexperienced FOs from within the country as a result. I had an interview and never even recieved a sensible reply as to the outcome.
You are lucky not to have been to VB for interview. I went all the way from Europe for one. Again if you have the inside info its a recruitment process, if not its a rejection process. Instead of being asked general questions and maybe some about your current type expect lots of obscure ones on Australian regs and ETOPS around Aus, some sounded like you would need the company ops manual to answer. Complete farce and they seem to think its entertaining to find some one at interview who has not already been given the answers by a mate. All smiles and 'We hope you get in', yeah right. So call in if going past but do go too far out of your way.
Not suprisingly they recruit mostly from the two large Turboprop outfits where 'the boys' know all the questions before they go. And train them up for Emirates. I will be happy to stand corrected in this, its just my experience. Thought it was just me at first but now get the impression other expats have had the same run around. And no sign of a Pilot shortage, just getting low on their preferred sources. To finish with a quote from Europe 'HR has failed the applicants for years, and are now failing their own companies'

Ezy,

there are two options for recruitment at Pac Blue.

In no particular order,

Rishworth Aviation: www.rishworth.co.nz
If recruited by Rishworth, you'll be a self employed contractor resposible for payine your own taxes etc incl. a %-age of your income back to Rishworth. A benefit is the ability to write off "business" expenses against your income and reduce the tax bill. Contact was, not sure if still is, Thomas Rabone, details from the website.

Contract Aircrew Services: www.conair.co.nz
If recruited by Conair, you'll be an employee of Conair you'll be paid a regular salary less tax plus allowances. There maybe an extra week of annual leave in there as well. Contact is Stu Graham, details from the website.

2 mates I know working for them, both say they are struggling for crew, a 5th frame due soon and not enough crew to get it airborne.

Good Luck coming home.
