MR Seatback.
"veronica" is a tired old piece of nothing that will continue to sit at the end of the runway at SYD airport taking photos of QANTAS planes while wearing a BIG blazer with gold buttons and wearing a knotted scarf placed gently to the side that once flew on the Concorde but now trolls cabin crew websites trying too remembering better days and causing trouble.
Don't even dignify it with a response.

MrSeatback2.. I am really hoping that you will get the offer with QFCCA !!!! You sounds a genuine great guy and that's what QF needs ! I didnt get it at all after 3 weeks waiting and got the no thanks e-mail. I just found out one of my friend ( she is currently flying --- and terrible at her job ) got the job offer from QFCCA... She is with JQ. Apparently JQ and QF are doing cross reference between each other. Unfortunately at the end of day .. its all about politics, whether JQ wants to "release" or give a "good reference" to QFCCA or not..
What a pity ....

It's driving me nuts watching others get the nod Mr Seatback 2 so i can only imagine how you must be feeling.
Especially given your interview was weeks ago.
Hang in there. The whole board is gunning for you.

ZWS what you are saying is correct, I have spoken to quite a few ex mam crew and its the same story! they are amazed at some of the bad apples that got through and some really great people missed out.
what I am confident about is that LHCC are a though bunch and they will son be sorted out, if they are slack on board the CSM or CSS will deal with it.
Mr seatback2.......... I know its hard but hang in there.....and Don't call them what ever you do! QF can be very precious about thing like that and Will see you as "demanding", remember they have everything on their side.
Also let veronica say her words of venom, I actually get a laugh at some of the things she states and I must admit her posts are like a wet paint sign, you know you shouldn't touch(in this case look) but we all do!

cartexchange,
thats the problem exactly and the company and some of the office know it.
they hold all the cards in the deck and everytime you have to deal with the office tribe you are forced to remember it.
I guess the thing is that worrying doesn't help so just go on with what you are doing and what happens will happen.
with Veronica,I don't understand why anybody would want to be miserable all the time.I guess some people just want to be bitter and twisted instead of being positive and happy.

QCCA Medical
Hi everyone,
I've searched the archives and I can't seem to find info on what exactly the medical involves. Can anyone shed some light?
The last one I went to (at Sydney Airport) just tested my stretching/reaching/twisting, took a wee sample and asked a few general questions - do I smoke/excercise etc. and that was it.
Ta!

QF vs JQ
Is anyone able to shed some light on those who got 'that' email, is it worth applying for JQ International??
Does anyone know pay/allowances/layovers etc??
When you say they cross reference check with QF, it what regard.
Is someone's able to provide a heads-up that'd be cool.
I, like others, got 'that' email, after ref checks done over 3 wks ago.

medicals look at your basic fitness, but basically and the most important factor they look at is DRUGS.......that urine test is important.
so if you smoke weed, don't even bother applying.

QCCA Medical
lol yes I read some posts from silly billy pot smokers, lucky for me I don't smoke at all.
Is there anything extra they test like hearing, lung capacity? Anything different like dental checks?

It's not just the weed my friends, over the counter drugs like codeine also show up in your test. Then it has to be sent away for further testing to make sure it's not something stronger like morphiene or pethidiene. Nothing like a failed drug test to get the blood pressure up.
Now I'd like to add my 2 cents worth. Knowing Mr Seatback there is no finer candidate for the position with QCCA or any other airline. Having worked under him (oh the pleasure! ) and beside him you won't find a more professional flight attendant. It is rare in this industry to find someone who has the passengers AND the crew's best interests at heart and I look forward to the day that we are back in the air again together. It WILL happen.
As for Miss Veronica, love, you are so the cartoon character we have all grown to love to despise. It never ceases to amaze me over the years how the same types keep coming back, yet they never evolve, never bring anything new, just the same old crap being spun again and again in the back galley. If nothing else you give us a laugh ( at your expense ) and show the newbies what not to be like in years to come. I'm sure there's a club on the internet for people like you, try google for "bitter bitches and boilers", I'm sure you'll find a friend or two.

Question?
Morning gang,
Does anyone know if those people that are going across from JQ or any other member of the QF group for that matter that already have staff travel are required to wait the 6month waiting period or is it being waived?
Also the $104 that was payable for the security check was meant to be getting sent back to all QF group staff that applied - anyone received that yet or should we not hold our breath for it?
Hope everyone is having or are still enjoying their weekend.

With Interest...
Hi Skychild, with regard to the $104...it takes nearly 4 weeks to get the money order posted back from Qantas, and make sure you still have the butt section the P.O gives you..cos they wont give your money back to you without it..they send away yet another form and the wait is quoted...another 4 weeks....

I had my Interview Friday
Hi there to all
I had my interview on friday and it was the most amazing day, fast and long, i was one of the lucky 18 that made it to the afternoon session, i think there was roughly 45 knocked out.
We have been advised the wait would be around 2 to 4 weeks to be notified if we are successful
2 things were said to me at the end of the panel interview, 1 was that i looked as fresh at 5pm as i did at 7am and i had the most amazing smile and it was genuine and was present all day as i was being viewed all day.
Im so happy with the way i went and only time will tell if im a lucky man after waiting 23 yrs for Qantas to advertise for Crew.

Royboy,
There is a similar forum to this about JQ that discusses pay and conditions. I also recently applied for Jetstar L/H. They do ask you if you have recently applied with either JQ or QF and the details. I believe that you can't reapply for six months with either company if you have been unsuccessful with one. I don't know if the six months begins from your application or assessment day or the thanks but no thanks email.
Miss V,
The medical also tests your hearing, lung capacity, eyesight and colour plus various tests for skeletal dysfunction, flexibility, general health etc. Pretty in depth, but also pretty easy.
It's almost Monday, which means another week of waiting is about to begin. Best of luck to everyone partaking in the assessment days and a raised glass to everyone still waiting. ( Please bring on the duty free grog....please?)

Accommodation during training
Anyone with information on where non-SYD trainees will be accommodated during the 6 weeks of training? I understand it's somewhere in Rushcutters Bay?
