what did they fire you for kev?

my guess is you are an independant thinker, need no supervision, get the job done, have above average skills, and can talk to clients.....

i can see why you didnt fit in

hey Kev, love the thread, seems like the "man" has a real problem. I heard a rumour that this mob were among the first to introduce random Drug and alcohol testing as well. no wonder the boys and girls are on hot bricks. seems one that refused to pee in the bottle for a time was told that not to do so would be read as "a positive". he was shaking in his boots apparently, not much wonder he hates the gm. i even have a name for that bloke if you want it and yes the initials are around and on the departed list.

Yeah I think your right, way too much time.

Why have people become so involved in dishing out sh%t on their current or former employers these days!? Obviously you all have good reasons for it but how about everyone just take a deep breath and see how childish it all is. Build a bridge and get over it. It is Christmas time after all. How about everyone just chill.

Something bad must be in the water in Derby these days!

Too much time?

It takes very little time to check the forums. Perhaps they have issues because said employer is in fact a wr....and perhaps if you guys had worked for them (I haven't) then you might understand?

Unfortunately, based on what I've heard around the traps recently, comments made in this thread about the said operator are spot-on.

Exactly my point. You HAVEN'T worked there making anything that you say hearsay and most likely an inaccurate representation of the truth. It is unfortunate that there is so much of this 'I heard from my uncle's cousin's brother's sister's ex-boyfriend's mum that......' on PPrune. I understand that many posting on this thread have in fact worked at this company, so lets leave the opinions up to people who actually have first-hand experience with the operator.

Merry Christmas

Well it seems that yes there is some hearsay being spruced around here and there. There is also, so it seems, some amount of fact that is supporting the hearsay coming from those who have not worked for the said company.

That being the case it seems like in this case the actual ‘fact’ factor could be assumed to be around the 70% mark, yes/no!?! That being the case there is a 30% inaccuracy caused by hearsay about the accused by those who have not worked for the company. Otherwise said, 30% of the things being said are simply opinions not based on fact from those with actual, boot in the arse experiences. Seeing as opinions are like asles and everybody seems to have one that must mean that 30% of the people on hear have verbal diarrhea and are in fact talking ****! Therefore, and supporting the fact that according to my dogs-sisters-mother in-law, I myself ‘may’ have contributed to the 30% of **** coming out of mouths. But is my or others **** inaccurate? That is a whole other question. One in which I simply don’t have the time to look into.

But, as FMC said earlier, it is Christmas time and I agree that this has become quite childish. So how about everyone give it a rest and move on, concentrate on what is a time of celebration. Get pissed, have fun, and in 20yrs time look back and remember the good old days (even as hard and or unfair your time may have been). Hey, it took me the last 12mths to get over my last employer so it won’t happen overnight but it will happen!

Merry Christmas to you all,

WOMBAT.

Ditto Wombat

I can't say I agree with your arithmatic in this particular case but the rest of it proves that you are using the wise head as I know you are capable of.

Like Kongdong I used to work there too and I have known the CP for years. I also know he has been to enough funerals for young inexperienced pilots. He sets the standards pretty high is my personal experience and he taught me heaps.

He certainly will not put up with idiots doing stupid things, in fact he grounded 2 blokes for 2 days just this year for being childish kids which resulted in lost work for the company.

The first real point I would like to make is that it is obvious here that we have one disgruntled little possum being closely supported by someone using the pseudonym of one of the Wests most favoured and CHARITABLE ladies to stir a POT of crap. She would roll in her grave if she thought her nick name was being associated with such venemous drivel. I feel this proves that the individuals we are talking about have no respect for others, our Aviation heritage or for that matter anybody or anything most probably.

The second point is that all of this sort of stuff drags this forum down to levels that it doesn't deserve either because it detracts totally from the forums overall creditability.

Get a life troops, have a beer and chill because carrying all of that anger in your heart will destroy your soul.

Have a Merry Christmas and if you are ever anywhere near Jandakot take the time to visit the memorial of the true Sugar Bird Lady.

when you have a gripe express it, is this a place for young pilots to work or not???????????

how many funerals could the CP possibly have attended, if they were his pilots, then that answers the above question.................................................... ............................................................ .....

Not So Sweet

I can promise you, not so sweet, that there are no hard feelings on his part. The funerals he attended were back in the 80s, one was for a fellow crew member, the other was for a student that he had refused to check to line on a Beaver who ultimately died as a passenger at the hands of another Beaver Instructor and Owner. Sadly they all (3) died, as I understand.

You obviously know the CP, ask him for the details because I have probably got it a bit wrong as a result of time. On the drug issue I know there are another couple of stories that strongly influence his decisions. Details are a bit fuzzy but one of the local float drivers up there back in the early 90s went from Airlines (after the pilot strike) to Arrow to Paspaley to and the rest doesn't need to be related here but the guy is dead. The CP feels a heap of responsibility for not being on top of things there and I can understand the position taken by the company as a result of past experiences. I guess he does not want to be in a situation where he could have been aware and didn't monitor and take control of situations where he might have saved a situation or careers.

Do yourself a favour Friend, and suck on a bit of sugar.

My comments on the last page didn't refer to the CP btw.

Seems this thread has gone all quiet. A little like the Koolan contract for said company.

Well, now that other company has all five caravans on line, I don't think Bushy's will see Koolan except in exceptional circumstances, in the near future. I also believe Cockatoo might be under threat as well.

So you know better do you? I reckon Wiz is not far off the money in both cases. Plus, Koolan sure as hell won't be going back to scare-vans in a hurry!

So enlighten us all then Iceberg!

The first part of your statement is correct............you have no idea where I got my information from.
The second part of your statement shows your ignorance of the first part.
You don't know where I got my information from...........so how do you know that the lizards, Goannas and Wonjanas know more than me?.
I know a lot more about what is going on than you could possibly know old mate.
Lets just say I know some authoritative people on both islands that make decisions regarding these matters, and have been involved in conversations on this very matter........... Believe me buddy, I DO know.
