Question Baron endorsement - Perth

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good company around Perth to do a Baron endorsement with? The only one I know of is The Aeroplane Company at Jandakot.

Also, what would be an average price to hire a Baron?

Thanks in advance.

Scrambler,
Ad Astral got rid of their Barons some time back.

Navajo King,
I think the best bet for a BE58 endorsement at Jandakot would be with the Aeroplane Company. I hired a very nice machine from them about 18 months ago.

Wiz,

Sorry mate, it was either 310 endo or CIR renewal. If you still want to do the PA23 I can get if for you at a pretty good rate though.

Things could change though if my lotto / powerball numbers come up.

Thanks for the info. Just been to visit The Aeroplane Company and will probably do it there.

Ad-Astralizing It

So What's Ad Astral got now?
Just the Duchess?

Or something better?

Is it still the two Ronnies?

Navajo King - What is your definition of a good company for a Baron endorsement?

Seeing you want an average price does this mean you want a average endorsement?

Megle2

Was trying to compare prices and estimate how much it would all cost. But thats all done now and I was quite happy with the endorsement. It took over half a day including detailed briefing and pre-flight and about 2.0 hrs airswitch and I felt very comfortable with the aircraf in the end.

Yep,

Did my MECIR with The Aeroplane Company in Feb/March on their BE58. Frankly, they are streets ahead of most other flying schools on the strip there, and they are pretty much the only ones who do Baron endorsements, I think. Or, if anyone else does them they X-hire from them anyway. I paid $379/hr private hire wet, plus $75 or so for the instructor per hour. Not the cheapest, I know, but I know I got what I paid for.

Strong recommendation...

Since we're giving recommendations here...

Not always. I reckon someone mentioned by name above is a pretty angry man and in the air, that equates to unprofessional as far as I'm concerned.

Did my initial and 3 out of 4 renewals with above named person.
I wouldn't describe Ron as "angry". Definately demands high standards and expects you to be prepared for the sim or flight exercise you are undertaking and rightly so as far as I am concerned. He like any reputable operator does not want to see you wasting your money by having to repeat sessions due to lack of preparation.

Just because he does not pat you back and say what a great pilot you are each time you get out of the BE76 does not equate to being unprofessional! As the saying goes; "if you can't handle the heat - get out of the kitchen"

Yeah I'd agree with that sentiment too and that wouldn't bother me at all. A couple of things I'm thinking of happened outside the training environment. Anyway it was years ago......

Itchy,

I've seen far better pilots than moi reduced to tears and chuck it in because they took it all a little too personally. I guess 20 + years in military toughened me up a bit and if I noticed a little extra heat from RH seat I used to just chuckle and say to myself "ok sir, no prob, your train set"

One thing is for sure though, love or hate the place everyone seems to agree that if you come out of there with a rating you know you've earned the damn thing.
