Today, Delta announced they're starting hiring. Classes in June will be composed of those who had previous conditional job offers (CJO). Off-the-street(OTS) interviews will begin "later this year".

Update: Apparently, there are 75 people with CJOs who will be sent to class in June, July and August. Beyond that, OTSs will be entertained.

News from Allegiant:

"Allegiant Air plans to hire 184 pilots in the coming months, a nearly 19 percent increase to the company’s current roster of approximately 1,000 pilots."

This from Frontier Airlines. A new pathway for college students from college to Frontier. Not much detail but it appears to leave out the intermediate step of regional flying between CFI and the airline...or maybe I've overlooked something:

The careers page at Frontier specifies this:

"500 hours jet/turbo-prop"

https://www.flyfrontier.com/careers/pilot

"Prior to employment with Frontier Airlines, program participants will also need to be employed by Embry-Riddle as a flight instructor and must obtain the R-ATP required experience."

Delta has changed its interview process to streamline it a bit, adding an initial online assessment(whatever THAT is), and doing away with the Job Knowledge Test(JKT). They don't mention the cognitive testing so I don't know if that's still part of the game. Scoll down about halfway to see the video by the new manager of pilot recruitment:

I'd be curious to know how many people Atlas gets from this particular program. I'd guess not a lot. And the 737 would be a good place to start them.

Delta still in the hunt. Another company in the pipeline system for Delta's Propel Program. The article says it's only gotten a dozen people to mainline. That doesn't seem like many:

"So far, more than a dozen Propel graduates have become Delta pilots."

This is entertaining. You can almost smell the desperation through your computer screen. But not to worry...seats will be filled and airplanes will be flown:

Interesting. I hope what I'm smelling here is desperation:

"Delta is expanding its recruitment strategy by offering jobs in the flight deck to full-time, active-duty U.S. military pilots up to two years before their retirement.

These conditional job offers can also be extended to Active Guard Reserve pilots in what is a significant expansion from the previous timeline of six months before retirement.

For all other military pilots, Delta will begin interview processes and extending conditional job offers to successful candidates one year before their availability date."
