Lightbulb E170 at Bromma

E170, Turbo bandeirante was introduced at ESSB to some potential customers like SAS, Skyways and some other airlines operating in scandinavia.
Does anybody have a clue what are SAS's intentions. Do they plan to use that RJ, if purchased, in fleet of SC, KFB or ...?
Finnair was also intrested in that type, maybe to replace their ATRs which are going to be taken over by Aero A/S.

Talking

To put an extra nice touch to it, the A/C went tech there and had parts flown in to be able to get it airworthy again, hehe

E-170

I´t will probably be even more succesful than the E-145 that sold over 600 in a few years. That concept is something that SAAB should have done with there "today unsellable SAAB-2000" insted of putting propellers on it.

I agree Fizze,

Saab 2K is nice but it's nce with those propellers
If they only had done that in all new configuration and using jet engines, then with good reputation of 340 it would have sold a lot. They did not.

The problem with SAAB 2000 was that SAAB insisted on keeping the cross-section of the S340 in stead of making an entirely new aircraft. This limited the S2000 to a 50-seater, which is too small for the market demand that developed during the late 90's when "everyone" wanted 70+seat turbo props. Or at least the possibility of a mix of 50-70 seaters.

If they had made a totally new aircraft, who knows; maybe they would have made a jet aircraft instead. But then it's not a "S2000 only with jet engines" anymore.

The E170 made a stop at HEL before it went to BMA, and the AY brass was very interested.

If the E170, and others in the family, is ordered, I'm sure it won't just be to replace the ATRs; I'm sure it will be put to much wider use than that.

Oh, that's EFHK and ESSB to you fly boys.
