Air Baltic

What indeed are you talking about? I thought Air Baltic allowed hours spent on Google Earth's Flight Simulator to be taken into consideration as professional flight hours!

Hello everyone,
I've got two questions concerning AB recruitment:
-Concerning the ATPL theory exams in the application form, it specifies CAA approved, did you guys take the time to convert it before applying?
-And concerning the availability, how long before you planned to be available did you apply for the job?
Thanks for the answers.

Don't hold your hopes up too high. The situation isn't as rosy as it seems. Heard that some pilots will be asked for part-time work (assume mostly B737) and contractors laid off again. No idea about the Dash operation but it seems that money is getting less and less - stormy times ahead (tells my gut feeling).

Don't hold your breath guys. All contractors on 737/F50 are to be laid off at end of Oct having been recently told Mid Jan was likely end date.
Full time pilots being "enticed" to accept reduced salary & or 75% contracts. Newly hired/rated Q400 bods being advised they are on (unpaid) leave for 4mths due shortage of airframes/instructors. Newly minted CC same deal. Big cull of CC @ VNO base, predicted flying hrs for all fleets drastically reduced for Winter.
Perhaps the recent change of Govt (apparently the new version is not so "Flick-friendly" I heard? ) has resulted in this wave of pessimism. After a fairly buoyant/hectic Summer, & by all accounts a fairly busy Winter 2009/10, the business plan for this Winter appears to have degenerated into "batten down the hatches."
Rumours abound that finance for the next Q400's is a problem, God knows what the real story of the "airBaltic" terminal due to be built (and paid for by who? ) in RIX is, or indeed the truth behind the new "airFlick rumoured to appear in VNO. Some have even suggested this pessimism is just HerrF cr@pping on his own/& the new govt's, doorstep prior to setting up anew with the Lithuanian Govt as his new buddies, but that sounds a tad Macheivelian ? or not ? time will tell.
Nice place (well, can't comment on Winter & it seems this year I won't have the chance)but complex politics between the two major shareholders, never mind the Chinese

Invited to assesment

Hey

I was recently invited to assesment day for F50 in the end of october. Has anyone been there recently to tell how the selection day proceeds?
I've read through the hole thread....and it seems like there have been some changes through time. Any info would be highy appreciated!

As to the technical interview. Any tips?
Is the sim ride on a 737-400 Level D sim for Fokker guys?

Thanks!

The situation is going indeed worse and worse. One odd thing is that newly hired TLL CC trainees are told to complete their line checks and start flying as was predicted, while 2 latvian groups were put on "unpaid leave" for at least 4 months. Any info on CC's destiny?
