Statement Issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs [Kuwait]

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the State of Kuwait's condemnation and denunciation, in the strongest terms, of the brutal and ongoing Iranian attacks using ballistic missiles and drones, the latest of which occurred at dawn today, targeting once again civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in the death of one individual, injuries to others, and damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions.

The Ministry affirms the State of Kuwait's categorical rejection of Iran's overt aggressive attacks, which lead to increased escalation, heightened tension, and undermine the security and stability of the region, constituting a flagrant violation of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.

The Ministry stresses that the security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory are a red line that cannot be crossed, affirming that the repetition of these aggressions represents an organized aggressive approach, which the State of Kuwait will neither accept nor tolerate.

The Ministry affirms that the State of Kuwait reserves its full and inherent right to take appropriate measures in response to these sinful and repeated Iranian aggressions, in accordance with international law.

Anwar Gargash:

In light of the repeated Iranian aggression against the sisterly State of Kuwait and Kingdom of Bahrain, there must be a firm, unified, and cohesive Gulf stance.

For no Gulf state should be left to face targeting alone, as the security of the Arab Gulf states is interconnected, their interests are shared, and their fate is one.

This aggression does not target a specific state, but rather all of us.

Anwar Mohammed Gargash (Arabic: أنور محمد قرقاش; born 28 March 1959) is an Emirati politician who served as the minister of state for foreign affairs between February 2008 and February 2021. Since February 2021, he has been serving as a senior diplomatic advisor to the United Arab Emirates president.

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Condemning the Aggressive Attacks by the United States Against an Iranian Oil Tanker and a Telecommunications Tower in Qeshm

(Unofficial Translation) 3 June 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the aggressive action by the terrorist military forces of the United States in attacking an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and a telecommunications tower on Qeshm Island, which was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 June, originating from the territory of two regional countries.

These aggressive acts constitute not only a violation of the ceasefire understanding dated 8 April, but also a blatant breach of the fundamental principle prohibiting the use of force under Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

While condemning the United States’ colonial-style use of the territory and facilities of regional countries to advance its aggressive schemes against Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also underscores the direct and explicit responsibility of the rulers of Kuwait and Bahrain in connection with last night’s aggressive acts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that any country allowing aggressor parties to use its land, sea, airspace, facilities, or military bases located within its territory for the purpose of carrying out or supporting military aggression against Iran is in clear violation of the fundamental rules of international law and, pursuant to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314, shall be regarded as having committed an act of aggression against Iran.

In exercising its inherent right to defend Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, the Islamic Republic of Iran will utilize all available capacities to confront such aggressive actions, including through targeting the origin and source of the attacks.

It is self-evident that responsibility for the consequences and repercussions arising from this situation rests with the American-Zionist aggressors and all parties that facilitate their acts of aggression against Iran by placing their territory and facilities at their disposal.

The Iranians are reporting that they have hit another MSC containership in retaliation for their VLCC, Lexie, being attacked by the USN

The MSC Panaya is currently docked at the Khalifa Bin Salman port in Bahrain. There has not been any UKMTO, MSC or Bahraini confirmation that the ship came under fire as yet.

Iranian media reports that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have targeted a second MSC vessel.

Iran’s Tasmin News Agency reported following the US firing a Hellfire missile at the engine room of the VLCC Lexie on 2 June it had targeted the MSC Panaya with navy missiles. It described the vessel as belonging to the “American Zionist” enemy which Iran has called MSC in previous attacks on its vessels.

The MSC Panaya is currently berthed in Khalifa Bin Salman port in Bahrain, according to AIS data from Pole Star Global, and the attack has not been confirmed.

Todays updates on the Strait of Hormuz, Bab-el-Mandab Strait and all ports and anchorages across the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman......plus shipowners are open to being charged to use the Strait of Hormuz, the EU is open to combine Aspides Naval Mission to the French-British led coalition on mine clearance and Bahrain has arrested 15 people accused of colluding with Iran......and still no confirmation of the attack on MSC Panaya

Bahrain has announced the arrest of 15 men in relation to activities connected to the IRGC. Activities included attempted radicalisation of citizens of Bahrain, plotting terror cell activity and other similar offences primarily aimed at young people. Bahraini authorities are still hunting further IRGC operatives and more arrests are anticipated.

The Ministry of Interior emphasised that the movements of those involved had been under continuous monitoring and surveillance and stressed that the measures undertaken were aimed at safeguarding the security and safety of all members of society.

The ministry reiterated that it will continue to confront anyone seeking to undermine civil peace, spread discord, or incite division within Bahraini society.

The EU is proposing to join the French-British led coalition with their Aspides Naval Mission in relation to mine clearance and other duties once the war with Iran is ended. Aspides is the multinational Naval task force that has been guiding ships through the Red Sea and protecting them from possible Houthi attack since 2024.

The European Union has proposed that the bloc's Aspides naval mission take "the primary role" in clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz, "when conditions allow," as part of a Franco-British-led initiative, according to a document seen by Reuters.

The European External Action Service wrote in a note dated May 26 and sent to member states that "the situation requires the Union to provide a meaningful contribution" to a coalition led by France and Britain "to be materialised once conditions allow and separated from the belligerents".

During a keynote discussion at the recent Posidonia shipping conference, Greek shipowner Evangelos Marinakis told delegates that he would prefer to pay a fee to use the Strait of Hormuz than to go through so much "hassle" , he sees a fee as a way to repair the damages done to infrastructure in the war.

Most shipowners are reticent to discuss the arrangements they might be willing to make with sanctioned regimes, but on Tuesday, prominent Greek tanker owner Evangelos Marinakis said what many are thinking quietly: for business purposes, it might be better just to pay for transit through the Strait of Hormuz and receive security assurances, all questions of geopolitics aside.

"For me, it is better to pay a fee of $100,000 or $200,000, depending on the size of the cargo or the size of the vessel, than to have all this hassle," Marinakis said at a conference forum at Posidonia.

Iran has implemented a tolling and routing procedure for traffic through the strait; for safe passage through Iranian waters, it imposes charges that vary by ship and cargo nationality. It has set up a new administrative body - the Persian Gulf Strait Authority - to handle paperwork for vessel approvals, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is overseeing enforcement through kinetic means.

The legality of Iran's arrangement is questionable: under international law, the strait is open to traffic of all nations without charge, and there is no clear precedent for charging tolls on such a waterway. In addition, both the IRGC and the PGSA are sanctioned entities, and the U.S. Treasury has made clear that it will pursue enforcement against anyone who transacts with Iran to arrange a transit.

Onto the Strait of Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandab Strait

A definite increase in traffic for the Strait of Hormuz this morning. Some of the ships appear to be using the AIS system to make statements.....when hovering over the ships to get their details, you get tags like "Realwargames", "Devil Owned" etc...and one ship is calling itself "Antique Boat" with a destination "Scrap Yard Inc"

The different names...including "Tiananmen Massacre".....there is a sense of crews both a sense of humour, being totally fed up with having to wait to leave and simply making their frustrations known....this is certainly not normal behaviour.

The Bab-el-Mandab Strait is flowing very well this morning, no incidents reported at time of writing

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....4bdb7c5776.png

The Persian Gulf from Umm Qasr to Doha, still very active and busy. Iranian herders on duty keeping a close eye on everyone as usual.

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....5639899f68.png

Once again it is very quiet from Mina Saqr to Jebel Ali. The same caveat applies is in previous days where AIS is being turned off. There is, however, a fair amount of activity in and around the ports and anchorages with Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah being the busiest areas. Iranian herders are about as normal.

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....b13dd8dee9.png

The ports and anchorages from Dibba to Muscat on the Gulf of Oman are extremely congested this morning. Dibba, Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, and Muscat ports are fully active. Anchorages at Khor Fakkan, Dibba, Fujairah, Al Widyyat, Liwa and Sohar are all exceptionally congested with the usual Iranian herders weaving tween the ships

There is no confirmation in regard to the Iranian claimed attack on MSC Panaya. Nothing on any database or news agency with details of an attack on the ship anywhere. Bearing in mind that the ship is still docked in Bahrain with other ships around her it seems unlikely that an attack happened but I shall maintain a watchful eye on her and for any updates.

Also no new updates on CMA CGM San Antonio or her crew.

Thats it for now...back tomorrow
