Just had an email off Northern monkey who says he has been banned from Jet blast and joins the ranks of Solo tk etc etc etc etc
If this is ketblast perhaps a few should reread the sign on the door, his post was in offensive, and I find the fact that the mods haven't had the balls to admit to his banning even more draconian and pathetic.

Mean spirited comment in the first place but if you can't take a joke don't join ! The thread got a bit more airplay than I thought it would in any case but I always judge comments on whether I would be prepared to say it to someone's face and I'm pretty (?) sure northernmonkey wouldn't have the temerity to press his case in the Mess at Leuchars.
I hope none of the aircrew see the thread because they and their families deserve our respect and admiration.
Freedom of speech by all means, but there is a little responsibility which comes with the privilege.

Im sure the Aircrew at Leachars get ridiculed on a daily basis and are more than capable of holding thier own in a bit of banter and mockery.
They are men who work in a military environment and can cope with much more nasty things than an Army bloke poking fun at them.
You guys must lead very peaceful and mundane ways of life to bite like this, I suppose you are very lucky that something so trivial winds you up, serious matters must not occur in your lives... I envy you.
Perhaps a more serious issue should be the moderation of Jetblast.
I think the coalition forces have just ousted a dictator....watch out guys

I think it is far more important to have a great personality than all the looks in the the world. My husband is no oil painting but I would not change him, as he has a great personality,and is the kindest person.

They may be ridiculed, and I give and take a fair shellacking from time to time too, but I'm fairly sure each of the aircrew who would quite rightly take offence at a calculated insult to their loved ones would prove their distaste in a rather physical manner if the offending party had the balls to do so face to face.
An anonymous posting on a fairly obscure thread is a cowardly way to express a highly personal point of view.
I can't wait to get back to my "mundane" and "peaceful" life and beautiful wife and family by the way.

The post wasn't, Im sure aimed at causing insult, im sure you can grasp that.
I'm also sure that they would as I have said read the thread for what it is, light hearted tongue cheek banter that you find in any officers / Sgts&WO / Junior ranks mess.
If not mistaken I believe one of the FJ squadrons had a growler board on there wall in the ops room........... Some placed piccies of thier pals wives on there.
Food for thought.......... maybe we are all made of different stuff

The move to JB clearly hasn't worked - there's a clear clash between Mil and civvy cultures.
I'm moving it back to the Mil Forum where it belongs before the unpleasantness gets completely out of hand.
The Mil Forum posters are big enough and ugly enough to condemn it, join the banter or just ignore it as they see fit

but I first saw this thread a couple of days ago, I figure, some guys standing on a corner ponits and says "look, aren't those girls ugly" All the other guys on the corner look , grunt a reply and move on to the next topic. I am surprised it lasted this long.
If you think about it nm shows that he is a few bricks shy of a full load cuz if one of these F-3 pilots decides to uncover his identity and take a few practice flights over his house or hut or beaver den, nm may have more in common with Hussein than he ever thought possible.
nm me thinks you suffer from the dreaded "Big Pilots Watch" disease and you are trying to compensate. nice play but potentially dangerous. What does an F-3 carry for armement?

Been in plenty of Messes too and fallen down and into bad ways with the worst of them but my first response still stands. A quick look back will show that I thought the remark would pass as a fairly bad joke but we are all in danger of taking it far too seriously.
The aircrew I know would kick seven bells out of anyone who delivered such a calculated insult to their loved ones. Putting it all in perspective, the wives and aircrew concerned will probably be concentrating on more important things and getting re-acquainted than any throwaway bad joke on pprune.

So these ladies aren't too gifted in the looks department (im sure they are fantastic partners, superb personalities, exquisite cooks and awesome in the bedroom) but you cannot take away the glaring truth
They look like they have been to the Nikki Lauder school of cosmetics
