What will be left of Ukraine if the war should really last 9 years?
Russia can sustain war effort for ‘two or three years,’ finds defense study

Assuming Vlad doesn't fall out a window, I am not expecting any significant changes in the near future.

The Russian losses are at a level where they are forced to start deploying less modern equipment.
The destroyed percentage of total explains why we are seeing less and less MBT's and APC's destroyed simply because there aren't that many available. Long range strikes are diminishing the artillery in higher quantities than before as well.

On the Barrier Pak, "capacity of the balloons is up to 20kg". Each section appears to be supported by (a maximum of) 2 balloons, is 250m wide and upt to 1000m high, so a single section comprise 250,000 square metres and weighs 40kg. What is it made from, spider web?
The actual figures, with 1 lifting balloon capable of lifting 20kg every 250m, to a height of 1000m are (in grammes):
mass of netting per sq m = 20,000g / 1000m / 250m = 0.08g per sq m.
That would be an incredible material! If it could stop a mosquito, or even support its own weight it would be nothing short of a miracle. Even kitchen / food storage 'clingfilm' has a mass about 15 times greater per sq m (1.2g for clingfilm vs 0.08g per sq m for Russia's claimed new miracle material). I doubt it would be sneeze-resistant from 10 metres away! It must definitely be made from that magical, mythical new Engineering material, recently invented by the Russians, known as Unobtainium.
It is extraordinary that the propaganda machine of Russia continues to spout such utter garbage, hoping it will be believed. This proposed defence device is supported purely by a load of hot air!

I agree - the numbers simply don't add up.

I wonder if it is some new fanciful scheme put forward by a Russian to steal funding from the state while producing nothing but fresh air.

The net story isn't for us to believe.
Its for the consumption of the home market.
During the fight for Normandy in 1944, captured Germans believed the Nazi propaganda that New York had been flattened and that the UK was on the brink of collapse from V1, V2 and even V3 wunderwaffe.

Russia: Another witness against Deputy Defence Minister Ivanov is dead. Igor Kotelnikov played a major role in the MoD construction kickback scheme through which over $100 billion was stolen from MoD budget. He mysteriously died from a 'blood clot' in the SIZO-4 prison in Moscow.

3/4 ounce ripstop nylon, commonly used for light weather spinnakers, kites and tents, is 42 grams/square metre.
Paper is often quoted in GSM (grams per square metre), with values around 90GSM for typical office printer paper.
Converting from a description of 17 Inch x 1500 Feet 40 Gauge Pre Stretch Plastic Wrap Pallet Wrapping 4.75 Lbs per Roll (heavier than kitchen wrap) I get about 10grams per square metre.
OK perhaps we can build a net from monofilament (fishing line)?
I'm finding a 100m reel of 10lb (4.5kg) monofilament weighs about 50 grams, thus about 0.5g per linear metre.
If we make a mesh out of it, with a square pattern, each square metre of mesh has 2 metres of line / (mesh separation in metres).
eg: 1 square metre of 1m mesh has 2 metres of line, 1GSM.
To achieve 0.1GSM requires mesh with 10m openings...
0.08GSM = 12m x 12m openings in the mesh.
You could fly a Cessna 172 with a wingspan of 11m through it on a good day...

Realistically, what fraction of Russia's population has the ability AND the inclination to look at a claim like this and do some numbers to pronounce it nonsense by several orders of magnitude. As a slightly obsessive engineer (see above...) I do it all the time, but very very few other people do unless they're actually interested.

Forget launching turrets into orbit, they are now doing it to Russian soldiers.

Russian propagandist comes out and admits what we all knew: the missile on the hospital was deliberate. Russia is indeed a terrorist state.
Russian propagandist Andrey Perla published an article in a Russian media called "A Children's hospital in Kyiv is not an accident. It's time to recognize that and stop being afraid."
◾️"We must take into account - simply and scarily: there are no people on that side. Not one person. Our missiles don't kill people. There's not one person there. Un-humans are there."
◾️"If we don't accept that as a given, if we don't forbid ourselves to consider them humans, to feel sorry for them, save them - we will weaken ourselves."
◾️"So - simple and scary, but we must not justify ourselves for the strike on the children's hospital. We must say: do you want this to stop? Give up. Capitulate. And then, maybe, we will spare you."
◾️"Maybe it's time we agreed that there's no civilian population on that side of the Dnipro? And turn their cities into 'Gaza' - with a simple and clear goal to save our children from death."
