Good luck getting 32 nations to sign up to a NATO op. A coalition of the willing is more or a six-pack or twelve-pack of bilateral (nation by nation) support to Ukraine (which is well covered supported under articles in the UN Charter). Also, explain to me again how you send soldiers to Ukraine in a non-combat role during a war? That's no way to treat your soldiers. Didn't anyone learn anything from Former Yugoslavia?

First world problems strike again.

As to conscription: if you invest in good training, conscripted soldiers can perform well.

⚡️🇧🇬Bulgaria is taking out of conservation 122-mm self-propelled howitzers 2S1 "Gvozdika" and BRDM-2.

According to the Bulgarian photographer, military equipment is intended for the 🇺🇦Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Military equipment of the Bulgarian army from the deep military reserve in the district is going to Ukraine," Tsvetan Aleksandrov said.

A talking head on the Telly said something interesting, if the Greek PM had been injured/killed, could Article 5 be invoked? I looked at the charter (with the understanding there could be amplifying documentation that rules it out) but Article 5 is sufficiently ambiguous that an argument can be made for yes.

Had the Greek PM been a victim:

1 An attack in Europe. Yup.
2. While not in a NATO country, it would have been an attack on the head of state of a NATO country.

I think it would be a stretch to say the Greek PM getting whacked could lead to anything beyond strongly worded condemnation, but the language of the document is sufficiently broad that it could be interpreted as a trigger for article 5.

Anyone want to send their nation’s leaders to Ukraine with a GPS transmitter on their head to test the theory? I can think of a couple I’d like to send.

The Russians are slowing creeping ahead in some areas, but god they’re paying a heavy price. They’re still losing equipment at a rate vastly greater than their ability to bring them out of long term storage.

Yesterdays visually confirmed losses…

BBC World news at 1900Z reported a "near miss". Does this give UKR one free shot at the chief Orc?

Heck of a silhouette of one of the late crew, that’s one serious bang.
At least it was quick for most of them.

Is big better though? Those drones have a very low profile. These new drones a bigger profile. Time will tell I guess.

The bigger drones are reported to be reusable carrying their own torpedoes, missiles, ECM. e.g.
