This is a problem that the west really needs to address, it is like a one legged ass kicking contest, Ukraine should have the freedom to target those launchers, especially as they are now using Iranian and North Korean missiles, they have no qualms in allowing them to be launched into Ukraine, the west should have the same response, let them retaliate.

In the boost phase, it is fairly fast. The intake says that the suggested speed is not the cruise speed thereafter, but the pony had a fairly reasonable "bollard" pull, (methinks that the RU considers that to be static thrust) of 2250kg... about 4600 lbf. The indicated cruise speed is subsonic... try 300m/sec, M0.9 or thereabouts at the high end. It is a vanilla version of the SS-N-3 Shaddock, that used to be plonked into the bins of the Echo-II tub, Juliets, even the Whiskey Twin bin, Kynda's and Krista I's; all favourites about the time that Oswald was complaining about being a patsy. Before Gemini, about the same vintage as Jupiter's.... Bay o' Pigs, etc. The age of chrome and finned fenders, white wall tyres etc.

Now presumably the mice have gone past their use by date, and the GCS has been improved, as much as anything in Russia has improved in the last 60 years.

Would think that being outside of the circle where fuel may carry one of these relics is sound safety advice. Add to do not fly over T-72s, T-80s, T-90's when turret launching is in progress.

How long until we see IL-2 Sturmoviks being wheeled out of museums to support the SK "Ilya Muromets" being cobbled together as a technology demonstrator of Russian tech. They can repurpose the remaining uniforms of the #200's, use Lada engines, and just go out and cut down some trees in the steppes... not too many left in the bits of Ukraine where Russia has been tilling the soil with T-72 turret landings etc.

I'm surprised more is not being said about Russian casualties, they look very heavy this Winter.

X is a constant torrent of footage showing Russians meeting FPV drones, snipers, Bradleys, mines. I'm sure there is similair on Telegram showing Ukranian casualties, but more difficult to find.

The A-50 that Ukraine shot down had 15 crew. No mention of their fate either.

Are Russians completely blind to this heavy attrition of their sons and fathers? It must be horrendous, and I don't know why Putin is allowed to keep the silence.

As Putin is a dictator, the options are limited and they all end in tears, it is only who sheds the tears being the question. It is easier to accept that the pathological society that Russia has devolved to, which is slowly circling the drain... ; that the state takes responsibility for the lies it tells, and therefore staying quiet avoids the opportunity to paint the walls of some Russian prison cell with a hint of brain. As long as those dying aren't them, they are betting that the odds favour their silence and obedience to the chief architect of their current state of affairs. Remarkably, they have a keen following in the US Govt, and a number of Western media moguls and personalities seem to bask in the promise of mana from Moscow. The west can't do much to change the mind of the average Russian, after 1100 years and lots to talent like Pavlov, they are still barking mad. We can however hold the HoR and Senate quislings to account, it is just less satisfying, but it is effective. As far as the ultra right, wist to be a nazi media moguls, well, justice... matters.

Putin is mobilising people from the regions outside Moscow to avoid upsetting the people who are in densely enough populated areas from causing him trouble. He has the Russians by every hair they have - the ones who can be fooled are fooled, those who can be scared are scared, those who can be bought are bought and everyone else is encouraged to feel apathy that they cannot change anything. The way for a country to get out of a problem like this is to not get into it.

NATO says we should prepare for an all out war with Russia in the next 20 years.... That is supposing whoever takes over from Putin has the same goals as him.

So the war has helped Russia purge the country of people who did not belong as part of Russia, I.e those that fled, the trouble is a lot that stayed did not have the means to flee so his logic is flawed.

Seems a reasonable request, to deliver what was paid for.

NATO01 seems to have taken over from the RAF but covering the same area with JAKE17. I wonder is something brewing south of Moldova?
