Disagree? Of course.
Be embarrassed? No point. (Unless you voted for him, but I think you live on a different coast than the region he represents ).
As to his hopes to be in a position to impact any of this as President, I'd say he has just scored an own goal since ...
On Topic
... There remains bipartisan support for Ukraine with material and more, in the US Congress.
Money is still being appropriated for military aid, and it generally comes through the House.
It would appear that his peers, in general, disagree with him.
He can (and I am sure will) be taken to task on the veracity of the points he has made in that last part of that quote, since what's on the internet seems to last forever.
FWIW, this post (yours and mine) may get consigned to JB, but as he's discussing the war maybe it will stay here.

Haven't we heard this argument many times before? If Putin was unhappy with the implementation of various treaties, agreements and accords there were peaceful avenues that could have been explored to resolve the problems. When he launched his invasion, likely using these disputes as a pretext, they all became null and void. Not being a US citizen I can't comment on whether this individual is of any importance, or if his utterings attract attention just because of his surname.

People are awfully good at forgetting Russia's public motives for starting this mess in the first place and giving them far more credit than they deserve.
Imagine this attitude 80 years ago. "Let's just negotiate with them..."
An attack on Ukraine is fundamentally an attack on the West, and Russia is using the same tactic they've been using for decades of pushing the red lines further and further and pretending they've always been there. I guess Crimea wasn't enough for Putin.

I'd be more embarrassed by the othe crap he's spouted recently on a podcast interview- US politics really seems to be dredging the bottom these days, on both sides!

Congrats to the Brits (and the French) - that Storm Shadow seems to be doing yeoman work; Russkie air defense doesn't seem to be able to take it out. Is this the long range weapon that will make a difference for Ukraine? 560 km range, extreme accuracy, and 450 kg of explosives is amazing. I just hope there is enough supply to affect Russkie logistics and command post destruction; better to use it now than hold reserves in England......

And this would loosen the bowels. On the second car, the blast unbolted all four wheels and removed them, then neatly placed an exhaust system underneath it.

However, the Russians must think everyone is gullible... Ohh look, no exhaust, no engine and ermmm, no propshaft, now that IS a surgical strike.

The Russians show cars upended in pristine condition against the safety rails to suggest civilian direct impacts.... and yet.... they release (or someone there does) the video of the impact on the bridge that has untidily not included said vehicles on the bridge, neither old cars on their edge, or new ones passing by to be hit by the perfidy of the Ukrainians attacking the MSR of the criminal invaders of Ukraine. Pretty sloppy propaganda from the Crimlin. The birds get a hint that they were not welcome, a good size bird scarer system, little chance of a bird strike around her for a few minutes.

US Senators Lindsey Graham SC (R) and Sen Blumenthal (D) introduced a bipartisan resolution declaring Russia's use of nuclear weapons or destruction of the occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Powerplant in Ukraine to be an attack on NATO requiring the invocation of NATO Article 5.

Well he’s made a prediction and, as he says, we’ll know in a few days…

Since a number of people are objecting to my 'gut prediction' in the previous🧵.

I'll lay out the data and my read of Ukrainian leadership & culture.….

Note - the interesting discussion on Swiss neutrality in WW2 has been moved to the JB thread: Russia, Ukraine, and possible unpleasantries

This thread concentrates on 21st Century activities.

Advances/possible initial breakthrough in Tokmak region.

The "breakthough " referred to is limited to the initial line of defence in the heavily-fortified Tokmak area. and the armour referred to is Bradleys.;

@OSINTMISCIF
First main trench line has been breached from Russian Telegram "The fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on NATO armored vehicles during the offensive were able to break through to our trenches near Robotyne."

They're trying, mightily clumsily, to infer a brutal Ukranian attack killing numerous innocent civilians.

I wouldn't say pristine; the corroded state of the brake disks suggests a complete disregard of any requirement to perform anti det runs.

Nukem Dukem is now spreading his Nuke tossing ideas to include Romania and Moldova, he certainly likes to spread them around Russia's borders.... oblivious to the fact that Russia will get back some of what they sowed.

And just in case Ukraine feels left out.

I could believe that, cutting the bridges from Crimea to the Donbas is a two way thing, it stops troops heading the other way if an incursion was started in the Kherson region.
