Are you the only person currently writing about naval aviation?

Just out of interest, when was the first Super Etendard landing aboard the Veinticinco De Mayo? Was there a test landing during the run up to the decision to purchase?

Argentine Naval aviation? Well, not a lot of news, so not a lot of writers required...

About ARA 25 de Mayo, the first landing was on 18 Apr 1983 at 1818 (local time). Pilot was Capitán de Corbeta Augusto Bedacarratz (Section Leader on 4 May 82, the mission that attacked HMS Sheffield) and the plane was Super Étendard 3-A-208. This was the first landing ever on the 25 de Mayo. The day after Bedacarratz and 3-A-208 make the first use of the BS-4 catapult.

Two pilots (Mayora and Curilovic) did 6 traps on Clemenceau (R98), during June 1981.

Regards!

I think we all owe Marcantilian a vote of thanks for his significant efforts to accurately and honestly record the history of this tragic conflict.

It says a great deal about him that he is able to do it in a remarkably non-partisan way.

Thank you!

Hi all! Thanks for the kind words!

What I really enjoy about writing about the 1982 conflict (which is a hobby I take seriously, my day time job is as a lawyer) is being able to bring old adversaries into contact with each other and have a beer (sometimes a coffee) together. Or, at least, to share e-mails.

I really appreciate Mogwi's words and those of the other Ppruners!

Best,
Mariano
