Just out of interest, when was the first Super Etendard landing aboard the Veinticinco De Mayo? Was there a test landing during the run up to the decision to purchase? |

About ARA 25 de Mayo, the first landing was on 18 Apr 1983 at 1818 (local time). Pilot was Capitán de Corbeta Augusto Bedacarratz (Section Leader on 4 May 82, the mission that attacked HMS Sheffield) and the plane was Super Étendard 3-A-208. This was the first landing ever on the 25 de Mayo. The day after Bedacarratz and 3-A-208 make the first use of the BS-4 catapult. Two pilots (Mayora and Curilovic) did 6 traps on Clemenceau (R98), during June 1981. Regards! |

Hi all! Thanks for the kind words!
What I really enjoy about writing about the 1982 conflict (which is a hobby I take seriously, my day time job is as a lawyer) is being able to bring old adversaries into contact with each other and have a beer (sometimes a coffee) together. Or, at least, to share e-mails. I really appreciate Mogwi's words and those of the other Ppruners! Best, Mariano |
