Rather strange considering the RAF are binning the T1 Hawk so it’s about to get a lot quieter in that neck of the woods.

The full judgement is online here. A good read. Well done to the various named Valley aircrew who gave evidence and were considered credible and professional witnesses by the judge.

There's no mention of Mr Jones's previous conviction in the judgement, but then nor would that be expected (or permitted, probably). I don't think it matters, given that the judge makes several comments like this:

I note that during his cross-examination, Mr Jones persisted in his assertion that the numbers had increased even when he knew that the RAF’s official figures demonstrated that this was not so. The fact that Mr Jones persisted in an allegation which was plainly incorrect gave me cause to doubt whether I could rely upon Mr Jones’s evidence generally.
In the measured language of judges, that's a slap in the face: one imagines that costs will have been awarded in favour of MOD as a result (I can't find any report though). A very, very expensive day in court would be a deserved addition to Mr Jones's jail time.

Shirley they'll still be circuit bashing in T2s and Texans and I would guess the latter are as noisy being turboprops.

There's a person called J Clarkson who has (within the last couple of years) bought a house near to Brize and is constantly complaing that aircraft are disrupting his vehicular and other operations for his video company.
Just thought I'd tell you.

Yeah, but not in the numbers that were seen in the halcyon days when our Beagle were a lad

A bit irrelevant since the T1 has not been based at Valley since 2016 - the role has continued with T2, and now Texan. The T2 'might' be a bit louder, and the Texan a bit more 'annoying' but overall there is a lot less flying than there was 20+ years ago.

1. Jeremy Clarkson has lived near Chipping Norton for many years now. Both his old house at Greystones and his new property at Diddly Squat Farm are at least 10 nm from Brize.
2. He complained about light aircraft disturbing filming for his Clarkson's Farm series - but the production team hadn't actually requested a NOTAM with respect to the filming activity.
3. He is actually rather fond of milltary aircraft, particularly Vulcan 558 when it overflew his old house.
Just thought I'd tell you....

I seem to remember, Beags, that he also bought a Lightning some time back. Much to the consternation of his wife, said airframe apparently decided to descend into his lawn. Could this be true ?
I don’t know how long, half buried, it was allowed to remain. Until he could make a profit I suppose.
How long will it be before he can swap Dunsfold for Brize ??
My apologies for the thread creep. The other creep, the ex-councillor at Mona, deserved all that he got.

Clarkson was ordered to get rid of the Lightning by the local council.

I remember being taught night circuits in a Gnat at Mona. Turning finals was like descending into a serious black hole......

Try either of 07/25/35 at Masirah on a murky night.

57mm, I knew that my QFI had confidence in my limited abilties when he allowed me to fly a night touch and go at Mona in a Gnat.....in manual! STUPRECCC and all that, but it went fine, although he was rather quiet.

Thanks, wub.
Much better view of the main road after that as well as making it far easier for his wife to mow the lawn ......

This was a civil dispute, and it's likely his previous conviction was 'spent' under rehabilitation of offenders (Usually 4 years from end of sentence for sentences of under 2 years 6 months, so Feb this year)

Writing as someone who has listened to both, nowhere near as nice.

Neither produced the wonderful Hunter blue note though!!

And yes, a GT6 could produce a blue note if the IAS was high enough....or so I'm led to believe!
