If they are, it’s without Biden’s approval.
But then again, depending who’s paying, who knows….

All we seem to hear in the West is the ones who complain.
here are bound to be some who shrug and go "OK, I'm still a soldier and they say they'll pay me" (which was reported to be a bit of a problem with the previous regime some times) and so will just soldier on as soldiers and airmen do.

US vehicles for Afghan forces taken to Tehran in new blow for Joe Biden

A convoy of US military vehicles provided to Afghan forces has been filmed heading for Tehran having been handed over to the Iranian authorities.
The loss of the military equipment to Iran, America’s arch-foe in the Middle East, is a further embarrassment to the Pentagon after the Taliban were seen parading in Kabul in front of captured US-supplied vehicles.
The convoy to Iran included Humvees and “MRAPs”, light armoured vehicles specially protected against mines. The social media channel that first showed the film, and specialises in Iranian military affairs, said that the Iranians had also taken possession of American tanks.
The channel could not confirm details, and it was not clear how Iran came to possess the equipment. There have been reports of Afghan soldiers fleeing over the border into Iran to avoid surrendering to the Taliban, and analysts have speculated that the Iranians, who have given the troops shelter, simply took the vehicles in return.
Iran’s relationship with Afghanistan and the Taliban is sensitive and a matter of dispute. The US believes that Iran supported the Taliban’s rise to power, including by training them in the use of roadside explosive devices……

Stretching it as a "strategic win" I think but a strategic necessity I'd agree - no point in staying trying to prop up what was clearly a useless and unloved regime.
Time to move on to more important things - NK, Taiwan, China, Russia

Pakistan is concerned about the potential security threat on its doorstep posed by a Taliban-run Afghanistan. Islamabad is said to fear a rise in militant attacks along the Afghan-Pakistan border."The next two to three months are critical," a senior Pakistani official has told Reuters. "We [the international community] have to assist the Taliban in reorganising their army in order for them to control their territory," the source added, referring to the threat posed by resurgent rival militant groups including Islamic State (IS).

Major General "I was the last Out" is not the "Last Out".
U.S. Citizens still stuck there. Maybe other allied nationals as well.

You are right. "Win" is a bit rich.
Thanks.

Another interesting account of life on the runway at Kabul, this time from Deborah Haynes at Sky News. Great to see the boss and guys/gals on 99 (and the other Brize squadrons) maintaining the highest traditions. Makes this old truckie very proud.

I’ve known Kev for a very long time and I’ve already chatted with him directly about the incident described.
I’ll happily go on record here and say what a bloody great job he and the other crews performed under incredibly stressful circumstances.
I sincerely hope there will be some form of medallic recognition in due course.
