Why not take them into Gatwick terminal, so that they can have a meaningful dicussion with the delayed passengers.

Having a chat inside the Terminal would not work well....not enough skinning knives available!

I imagine the passengers would be happy to improvise.

There was a reference on a radio comedy yesterday to use of a sharpened giant Toblerone.

The couple arrested on suspicion of the Gatwick drone attack are a husband and wife from Crawley, the Telegraph can reveal.

Paul Gait, 47, and his wife Elaine Kirk, 54, were detained by police at their detached home in West Sussex at around 10pm on Friday night.

Father of two, Mr Gait, who works as a window fitter, is understood to be a drone enthusiast who also flew remote control helicopters.

But his boss insisted he had been working when the drone attacks were taking place and said he would be shocked if he had anything to do with the incident.

To add to that I recently attended a lecture at the R AE S where the then CAS gave a PUBLIC lecture on the latest RAF, capabilities of similar nature. Hugely informative and enlightening, but, I assume, nothing of remotely secret or even confidential nature.

He was certainly not blabbing, just telling us that the current RAF is, in many ways, far more capable than many of us knew.

Perhaps I should extend my reading beyond Flypast. Aeroplane and the Journals of GAPAN. and the RAe S !

I suppose the Daily Mail should also be jailed over the reporting they had done following the arrest of the Push Bike rider!

Apologies RetiredBA I admit I did bite a bit too hard. Maybe its because I was in during the 80's at the height of the cold war.

There was very much an attitude of 'Don't tell them Pike' about all things green.

I acknowledge that at a presentation given by the CAS there are not going to be secrets disclosed.

I think it was the mention of a bar where your conversation took place that tweaked my old, still ingrained reflex action.

Put it down to watching all those old 'Who is listening' films we had to watch.

What we knew and what was publicly available was often the same. We often did not know this. However had we spoken out we would have given 'official' credence to public knowledge or speculation. Investigative journalists such as Duncan Campbell would then exploit such confirmation.

As an example of protecting secrets that aren't secret was a Russian magazine that had a full description of NATO ASW detection systems from sonobuoys, through towed arrays to SOSUS.

The couple arrested in connection with the drone attack at Gatwick airport have been released without charge.

The news came as Gatwick Airport offered a reward of £50,000 for information leading to the capture of those responsible.

The couple were held for questioning for almost 36 hours, but sources told the Telegraph they had been released without charge.

Damaged drone found at Gatwick Airport as bosses offer £50,000 reward Sussex Police Detective Chief Superintendent Jason Tingley said in an interview on Sky News:
I can say yesterday we recovered a damaged drone close to the perimeter of Gatwick Airport... and we will be doing everything we can with regards to progressing a forensic examination of that drone.
"That's something that will be fast-tracked and expedited."

My immediate reaction when I first heard the news was, why don't the airlines involved in the chaos together offer a £100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. Half the population of Sussex would have been keeping an eye open for suspicious activity.

It sets a precedent. The time after that happened the motivation would be to obtain the money - hold an airport hostage for a ransom. There are plenty of bad actors out there who would shop their brothers for 100k.
