My immediate reaction when I first heard the news was, why don't the airlines involved in the chaos together offer a £100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. Half the population of Sussex would have been keeping an eye open for suspicious activity.
It sets a precedent. The time after that happened the motivation would be to obtain the money - hold an airport hostage for a ransom. There are plenty of bad actors out there who would shop their brothers for 100k.
