Military Shortages In Many Key Areas

Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

Contractorisation. Blamed for a lot of things, but in a lot of the ‘key’ roles, they are staffed by ex-forces people.

People who loved their job when they were in, but not the crap that came with it...

Finished an Instructor tour at Cosford in the early 00s and the standard theme running throughout the engineering trades was that the RAF was a short term job, not a career. Phase 2 and 3 students were wise enough to take the training, education and then dispersing education on the Sqns to get qualified, to be of value to employers at the best possible release point.
