Finished an Instructor tour at Cosford in the early 00s and the standard theme running throughout the engineering trades was that the RAF was a short term job, not a career. Phase 2 and 3 students were wise enough to take the training, education and then dispersing education on the Sqns to get qualified, to be of value to employers at the best possible release point.
