He is conscious but still in intensive care at an undisclosed location.

It is a measure of the regard in which he is held that everybody is keeping very quiet about where he is and how he is.

I suspect it is more than just that MM. I'm not sure many of us really know what to say or how he will feel when he comes around and finds out what has happened. He will have so much more than just physical injuries to recover from.

I wish him all the best for a full recovery.

Let's hope AH isn't reading this 37 page ego trip.

BEagle

Unload, spot roll out to nearest horizon, pitch on buffet nibble to level flight.
ain't that the truth.

Ah well, what's done is done.

Lots of warm fuzzies for AH's recovery from the hospital horizontal

Here's to the AAIB boffins taking the Captain Sensible approach to their report and inevitable display planning changes.

HASELL for steep +/- Max Rate turns .... well I guess if Master Bloggs overcooks it, stalls and flicks under ... Never does any harm to be sure there is more air than you need in the fight against gravity when training

It certainly can't do any harm to instil pre manoeuvre checks discipline in the Prunelets, and arguably makes for one set of checks.

I can live with that.

Enough of all this, any idea how our man is doing in hospital?
News reporting that he has been released from hospital.

The Guardian states that he has been released from his specialist hospital, but doesn't say where he is now. However, if they are planning to question him, then it seems that they expect him to recover with brain function intact, which is excellent news.

Altimeter

The T7 has 3 x altimeters.
Having put and used a Gopro in a similar position in a T7 all 3 altimeters would have been visible.

Given the severity of the accident and that the accident happened less than 3 weeks ago and that the pilot was then described as "in a critical condition" and "in an induced coma" I'd be very surprised if he is now at home.

It maybe that the pilot is now improved enough, and has moved from an intensive care/ high dependency unit in a hospital near to where the accident happened to a hospital unit near home?

Good to see the glider pilot fraternity and amateur meteorologists have found a home in R&N. Should be a fast track solution for the AAIB.......

I suspect the Human Rights act and the right to privacy have maintained Andy's privacy, especially post-Levison.

Mountain Rescues for example aren't allowed to name rescuees without their permission these days.

Thank goodness that he is showing signs of recovery. Wouldn't it be nice to think that the investigation might proceed, and he might work with it, without media speculation etc. I'm sure, despite reading many erudite suppositions on this thread, that the truth of the matter is yet to evolve, it will only do so if the actors in the event are allowed to contribute their experience Of it. I'm sure we all wish Andy Hill a swift and full recovery, and an honest unbiased enquiry, where the media knee jerking can be replaced with common sense.

Does anyone think that anyone on the AAIB or even the coroner (or part of the coroners team)would read this thread ?

After all if you are investigating something you should look to all quarters for any information that may help.

You might not admit you looked here of course.

Why not?
Most of the so called research by the media is plagiarised and regurgitated in their rags from these hallowed halls. But is there anything within these pages that either AAIB or a coroner would not already have been presented with anyway?

Why would information on here help?

This is all opinion of various degrees of education.

Online forums are generally a test of the ability to debate your opinion rather than the correctness of an opinion.

This is particularly the case where identities are unknown.

I suspect they would rather contact credible and verifiable authorities on display flying, engineering and hunter pilots etc outside of the online world, rather than rely on the variety of fantasists, FlightSim heros and the like who dilute the genuine authorities on here.
(In some threads this dilution is approaching homeopathic levels....)

Well, with insight and analysis such as this from earlier in the thread,

the Hunter ran out a height before striking the ground.
who can blame them?
