Two nice clips of the landing.

God the weather looks awful in one of them.

The mid-upper turret looks odd ...... has it been faired over with a perspex skin?

A couple from yesterday, the most memorable things were all sounds - the Merlins as she taxied past us, the cheers and applause of the spectators and guests both sides of the fence, and the voices of the veterans I was privileged to chat with.

Arriving on a wet runway just as the rain eased:

The old meets the new:

A group shot of some of the veterans present in front of 'Vera':

I can verify that one of the veterans in the picture is an ex-101 Lancaster captain who completed a full tour including Berlin and both the Nuremberg and Mailly-le-Camp raids during his tour, plus survived a mid air collision with another Lanc! I think he deserves his well earned DFC and AFC.

Bravo to CWH.

The turret fitted is a Martin turret that were fitted to some late build Lancs.

BBMF have posted about the arrival here, as for myself standing in the rain at Lincoln Cathedral, I was just glad she made it safe and sound, plenty of chances for me to see her again, but it was probably the only chance for a lot of those brave old guys at Coningsby had to welcome her.

As Ursa_Major said in his post, the cheers and applause were also from outside of the fence from quite a lot of people. And from where I was, it was quite a sight.

I never got to speak to one of the crew who came to the fence as he was so overjoyed to see someone with her pet dog, he said he misses his already.

Well done to BBMF and CWH for succeeding this time.

Was re watching the videos of it coming out of the rain and landing and it does put an image in my mind of the numerous stories read
of the bombers returning after a mission.

Just wish that Helicopter hadn't drowned out the noise of the engines !

Cg, it did a low run down East Mids runway and over the Aeropark, it may have been doing something at the racetrack.
There was something on at Bruntingthorpe, so I do not know if it went to that, RR's spit went to it, as well as some Mustangs from Duxford

The Helicopter hovering over the HAS site when the CWH Lanc lands was one of Bensons finest with photogs on board I presume rescuing something from the plan to get air to airs (not that we have seen any yet).

Some of the local shops have quite well done (alas) photoshopped photos of them flying together....

I have an idea... even if someone else has had that already. Aerial footage while you still can
