CS, it really worries me that parents are still not taught/shown how to strap in the baby safely. Baby seats have changed a great deal in the past few years and most now have a single, long strap below the central buckle and this strap is pulled to tension the others correctly. The little lad could also do with some form of head support to stop it wobbling around or dropping forward onto his chest causing a kink in his airway. Baby seats of twenty years ago usually had to have each strap adjusted individually - a right pain. I better stop now before I bore you all. How can you tell I have a real thing about car safety for children?
Happy 20th birthday to CS Son.

'Thrilled' uncle Prince Harry may have been there last night after racing back from duties with the RAF .......
Pity they still get this wrong.

I don't know how many times I have sent messages to the back bench at the Mail about this.
Once is a mistake, twice is incompetence, many is ignorance.
Bear in mind, also, even very senior people at the Mail can be severely ignorant - used in it's proper sense.
New Year's honours list 1992 and the deputy editor of the Mail - duty editor - called the then-defence and aerospace specialist correspondent while he was on Christmas leave.
"There's been a major disaster involving the military and the MoD refuses to admit it. As usual, they're lying. Find out, now, what the hell has happened and file the story." quoth said deputy-editor.
"What are you on about?" says the Def & Aero correspondent.
"" Well the honours list is out and there's all these senior officers, such as Brigadier ****, late Royal Engineers, and Colonel **** late Black Watch," etc, "
Def & Aero Corr (Army ret'd), at home with his parents (father Army ret'd), sister (Army serving) and brother-in-law (Army serving), trying not to gently wet themselves at this, just says, "I'll get back to yoü," but there's nothing here to worry about."
You really have to wonder, though, don't you. To have reached deputy-editor of a major Fleet Street newspaper, he MUST have seen the honours list many times before!!

I think what gets them confused is William is in the RAF and flies Helicopters
and Harry flies Helicopters so must be in the RAF. If that makes sense !!!
And with the internet, 30 seconds to check.

And just a couple of seconds more to check that Wattisham is no longer RAF Wattisham. In the last message I sent I did point out that there are a couple of clues to help them get it right: 1) Prince Harry's uniform; 2) his rank - Capt. Wales, not Flt Lt Wales; and the fact that Prince Harry flies an Apache attack helicopter - a type not flown by the RAF. I don't know if there are any exchange drivers.
With all that and the availability of all sorts of interweb-thingy means of checking, the current subs must be bears of very little brain indeed to keep getting the whole thing wrong.
Oh, and there is also the tiny matter of a one-hour long documentary on Capt Wales last tour in Afghanistan - something which the Mail, inter alia, took great pains to report.

I hadn't thought of those other cross references.
A lot of the media people are not journos anymore,
just reporters who re hash what they are given or
told to say. And as you say, those at the top don't
know or can't be bothered checking - or even knowing
the subject, then it's no wonder.

To think that the Daily Wail is serious about responsible, let alone accurate, journalism is a grave mistake. May I suggest that you take a proper newspaper instead?

placed in the seat and the straps tightened so that only a couple of fingers could be inserted between the straps and the baby.
Yes, congratulations to the parents. I wonder what Father Christmas will bring him for his first?
Buckinghamshire.
It seems Phillip hinted that requiring a witness other than himself and the medical staff would impugn his honor (or some such thing),

Interesting article in The i (Independent lite). About the ridiculous sensationalism in the media and the idea of a hereditary ruler is as ridiculous as a hereditary mathematician.
The best quote was "In the shanty towns of São Paulo, the destitute stopped begging to mark the event, declaring: "The breaking of the royal waters certainly puts our trifles into perspective".
Now merchandise is on sale. Royal baby mugs, tea towels

Perhaps we can look forward to a special edition of the 22 Sqn Badge since young George had the nous to arrive on the 22nd Shame there won't be a 22 Sqn (unless it is reallocated) by the time he is 3!
Well according to a letter in The Times, those who envisage a long procession of male monarchs stretching into the 22nd century following the recent birth of Will's and Kate's Prince George will need to think again: ‘It is true that Princes William and now George are in line to the throne, but in the UK we have direct succession. So, if by some calamity the Queen were to be predeceased by her son, Charles, before he ascends to the throne,’ (perhaps by talking to one of his plants at ‘Highgrove’ that turns out to be a Triffid, that despatches him with it’s venomous sting.) ‘with the Queen still on the throne and Charles gone her direct descendant and heir would be Prince Andrew, with his eldest daughter becoming heir apparent.’
So if by chance ‘Air Miles’ Andrew became King, he would in due course be succeeded by his eldest daughter Bea as Queen Beatrice — and to add to the excitement his ex-wife Fergie would become ‘Queen Mother’ — a thrilling prospect!
Just thought you should know!
