Bristows to take over SAR from 2015
Al-bert - no, not too young to remember the Wessex tail wheel sketch - in fact it is what prompted me to join up as a SAR boy - living on the South Coast we were in full receipt of the RN PR machine in the early 80's

That was when Culdrose had the only dedicated RN sar flt, albeit with 2nd line crews (SAR was even described as a tertiary role for 819) and the RAF had nine flights.
Oh well, I think red and white quite fetching, better than orange and black - that's too '70s

Three quarters of the way there to an all-female crew at Chivenor already
This paint scheme has worked fine for many years.....
Image shall be everything in the new SAROP.

So what will happen in the Falklands?
So, as the SAR fleet is going to be replaced, what will happen to the requirement for the same in Falklands? Are they going to keep a few SKs, or does the Bristow contract include the islands?

What will happen to the next-but-one in line to the throne? Cut short his RAF career and, following in Uncle Andy's footsteps, do a spell with the Dark Blues? Or is a Merlin course in the offing?
